The puzzle for X is still not completely solved, some details are missing, but today a big piece of the puzzle was revealed.

It is about a new PPC-hardware from A-EON, named AmigaOne X1000.

Some specs revealed at http://a-eon.com/6.html :

AmigaOne X1000 Specs

* ATX Formfactor
* Dual-core PowerISA™ v2.04+ CPU
* "Xena" XMOS XS1-L1 128 SDS
* 7.1 channel HD audio
* 4x DDR2 RAM slots
* 10x USB 2.0
* 1x Gigabit Ethernet
* 2x PCIe x16 slots (1x16 or 2x8)
* 2x PCIe x1 slots
* 1x Xorro slot
* 2x PCI legacy slots
* 2x RS232
* 4x SATA 2 connectors
* 1x IDE connector
* JTAG connector
* 1x Compact Flash

( All specs are subject to change)

As well as a custom chip named "Xena" with a "Xorro" slot providing access.

CPU still unknown.

Some additional info can be gathered from the threads in forum as well.

Quite nice "X"

Up to my expectations

It will run Amiga OS 4.1 +

Will it run Yellow Dog Linux, MorphOS and MacOS Tiger PPC
What about Windows NT 4 Server PPC?

I can afford up to 10,000 euros. Is that enough for the new Amiga?

You rich man you

An acceptable price here would be up to 500-600 ¤ for the mobo. Preferably less, but not more. For the whole thing, add 150 ¤,, so a total of 650 -750 ¤.

750 is what a complete Sam system costs today, it will be higher than that, no need to be naive on this, we all know (then again Apple computers aren't that cheap either).

Also there will be no "mobo" sold as is, this is a complete Amiga Computer, (Rogue just said it won't be available without the AmigaOne X1000 branded case), the times of weirdly named "naked" mobos are at an end thank goodness.

Nice!
AMIGA branded as well. I see no reason not to be proud of this.
I would actually prefere a complete system and not just the mobo

Probably enough for 1 for you and 8 for your 8 favorite Amiga developers.

Even a single core at 1.6 GHz + would make a nice replacement for my aging micro.

@amigauser

I saved for 2 years so I could afford my AmigaOne.
I started AGAIN when the lawsuit got settled.

Having a custom case is a nice touch, and I'm all for it, but I see one negative point: Shipping outside of Europe/UK is going to be a killer

Congratulations to all those involved in bringing about these new developments. From what I have gathered this seems promising. Nice teaser campaign.

This is a very realistic thought IMHO. I do not expect the X1000 to cost below 1000 EUR.

I have been away for a while and i knew something was brewing in the background regarding hw but this exceeds all my expectations and sounds too good to be true actually.

If this is for real and the price is good then count me in , 1000-1500 euros is as far as i can go i guess, ok maybe more lol.

Amiga branded hw, now thats something i have been waiting for since Escom went away.

Rock on, i am almost in a Helgis state here :)
