posted by AndreasM on 5-Apr-2010 15:34:41 (6911 reads)
Many users have asked us if we could offer a poster with an X1000 theme like that from the Amiga Future cover 83.

Your wish is our command.

So we have created an AmigaOne X1000 poster for you. A preview image and other associated information can be found on our homepage.

Details:

Size DinA1 (approx. 60x85 cm)
135g paper
glossy
UV coating
Offset print

This poster will be available in limited numbers from our printing service, and available in either rolled or folded format via our homepage or other associated Amiga retailers. To estimate the demand, and to ensure everyone gets a copy of this poster that wants one, we have started a pre-order promotion.

The pre-order for the poster is available until 15. April 2010.

Shipping starts late April/early May.

We ask all interested readers to make their pre-order as soon as possible, to avoid disappointment.

Is this the official case design or mock up? I guess that should be made clear really.

It's not the final design, but I still like the poster. Be nice to have this one & another poster with the release case.

I think djnick and birbo need to be very clear here,

it is not the entire case that looks horrible to us, it is the fact that this enormous X is there, reminding many users of X box themes, which ofcourse we dont want.

Also some of us users prefer smaller cases,

IMHO, minus the X, add a tick or boing ball, or anything,

although, I would still get an X 1000 even if it came out as the poster suggests.

Cheers

@ Hondo,

poster is indeed ok yes.

After my last comment, I had another look, and realise one could get used to the giant X on the side.

Should be other way around perhaps, having the boing ball on the side, and a small x with boing ball at the front.

Oh well, I am still awaiting to buy the x1000, so lets wait and see.

cheers

Ok, in short:

- too many "old fashion Candy-effects" - Glow, Dropshadow... It happens when somebody starts working with Photoshop and start liking all effects he can get in one click! Everybody passed this "stage" in designing work [if designer is older and more experienced, it happened, for example, 10 years ago]...
- too many different colors. X is OK in its size, but I will turn off glowing.

Think minimal. Think flat vector, without inner shadow, bevel, glow...

Take a look, for example, http://graphicriver.net/ - there is plenty of GOOD [and bad] designs...

I rather have a poster with a picture of the real thing.

though ... the text below the case mokup looks nice. So I would keep "Amiga One X1000 A New Amiga Generation" and get rid of the rest of the poster.

I won't buy a poster of a computer - buying posters only eats into the budget of the computer buying

I took a look at the site and I agree with djnick.

Actually, thinking minimal seems to add a more professional effect.

But I do believe that a red&white boing ball should be there as a distinctive mark.

As far as X is concerned, if it stands for neXt should be fine. I don't like Xbox myself, but I think we shouldn't be worring of that.

cheers

I would like the Amiga team photo as a Poster

Mousemats too..

The X1000 case would loook lovely in a shiny black (PS3) colour.
