EDITED BY MODERATOR!

Flame/Attacks: Do not flame! Flaming refers to derogatory, abusive, threatening, sarcastic, rude, or otherwise mean-spirited messages directed at members/users. Be cautious when using sarcasm and humour. Without facial expressions and tone of voice, they do not translate easily over the Internet in posts and may be perceived as flaming. Report the flame posts immediately to an Amigaworld Team Member so that the situation can be dealt with immediately. A warning may be issued depending on the severity of flame/attacks.

REMOVED QUOTES OF MODERATED TEXT!

I might have fixed the problem in the meantime, but people asking this nicely doesn't really motivate me. Yeah I know, customer and such, but don't expect friendly service if you talk like that.

OMG, a flame war starting at the second post of a thread .... Hopefully not!

Good behaviour is not popular anymore. Don't take it personal, but keep up the good work. Am curious to see the Timber

Best,
naz

@BillE
How about moderating your language? Anyway I doubt IBrowse is still the main browser for most OS4 users.

Looking forward to installing the update.

Installed with no issues, fast and stable here on my MicroA1.

Thanks to everyone involved for their continued hard work, looking forward to the Timberwolf Alpha.

The website doesn't support IBrowse, I propose instead of calling other people idiots you use OWB.

Well did not succeed using OWB 3.25 too, the file was bigger than the original, AWeb stop to download in the middle of the file (I tryed 2 times).

I had to use a WindowsXP machine to download the OS4.1 Update 2 (Can't beleive that).

Bye!

That's odd, I was able to download the file no problems with OWB 3.25.

@Pierre55

Do you have this kind of problems with downloads from other sites as well?

@Rogue et all
Thanks a lot for this surprise, there were really no hints about this update this time :)

@BillE

IBrowse is pathetic nowdays... stop complaining about OWB, it is the best browsers we ever had. If you want to browse web with high non standard, non html 4.01 css compliant browser you are free, but you have no right to complain about a corrupeted download! Download it with OWB, which is the default OS4 browser, then use ibrowse to do what you want.

Downloaded and installed without problems here!!!

Thanks Hyperion!!!

Seems this dl trouble is connection related and a slight fault on the server side. With Update1 I had big trouble already.

With Update 2, I couldnt get the dl finished for several times, no chance at all using my MicroA1. With my Winblows machine, there is trouble with Firefox and this server, too (dl stops all of a sudden and doesnt resume in time, so dl restarts, stops all of a sudden...). I finally managed to get this dl, using IE... would be a really nice thing if somebody at Hyperion could have a look into this issue.

Installed and works nice, thx to all involved

I do have sympathy for BillE's problem, even if not his language... Downloading large files under OWB is not fun, due to no download progress indication. Not sure why the site's support for IBrowse has not been fixed, I'm sure it would be appreciated by many users.

Back on topic, quoting Hyperion's own press release (why not in the news item?!?)
Quote:
Installation of this Update 2 is required for the upcoming public alpha of Timberwolf.

I guess this indicates a public release Timberwolf isn't so far away

Quote:
This is a minor update which contains mostly bugfixes.

Updated components include

* Updated Python
* New Cairo 1.8.10 with partial hardware acceleration
* Updated Ringhio notification system
* New version of AmiDock
* Several fixed system libraries
* New version of the Python-scriptable Installation Utility
* A couple of updated Shared Object files compiled and linked with the new V2 SObjs ABI

I hope we can have a more detailed list of changes. For example:
* Presumably this fixes the odd behaviour of SetEnv introduced by Update 1?
* Does this fix Ringhio preventing public screens from being closed by most apps (such as TuneNet, Multiview, etc which supposedly don't follow official guidelines)? This gets quite annoying for someone like me who uses lots of screens.
