| Hyperion has their hands full with new hardware and a never-ending list of OS4 enhancements. I would like to suggest they off-load their current games catalog to a developer to port them to the current OS4 platform.
afxgroup sounds like a good candidate to me.
If there are royalties involved then that could be a problem that needs sorting out, but the more games that work on OS4 the better. I am sure afxgroup could get a nice bounty going. Last edited by gregthecanuck on 17-Jun-2010 at 01:37 AM.

I only wish one of my games from Hyperion worked so I could play it. |
This is what I see as a major problem for the Sam 460. Again it will be based on a SoC which has restrictions. This just doesn't effect WarpOS software where the PPC SoC is less compatible with a G2 even. But other OS4 software as well. I.e. does CPUTemp work on a Sam yet? And a host of other OS4 programs. UAE used to crash but I think that has been fixed now.
Okay, these Hyperion games were written for a different OS and piece of hardware. But it would be nice to play these old Amiga PPC games on new PPC hardware that costs a lot. Otherwise, using the PPC as a CPU is less effective. And with the Hyperion double working on the OS now you can understand people expecting Hyperion games to work. Or at least a patch released.
Now, I'm sure this isn't as easy as a recompile, or even dragging the sources though the OS4 SDK, otherwise they would have done it by now! We are only left with working out where in the PPC machine code breaks on the Sam and patching that part of the executable on disk or at run time or hacking some kind of G2/G3 emulation trap into the system to catch Sam particular crashes. |

| Only now saw this item. Does this run with the GOG.com release? (I already got one of those, see sig for a clue) _________________ : AmigaOneXE (unmod.) 750FX/512 MB +stuff & AmigaOS 4.(0|1) : A1200/68060&96MB/SCSI/EM1200-Voodoo3 & OS 3.5 : A500/1MB : Pegasos (ff) 512 MB & MorphOS Praise seitan.
