   posted by Prober on 5-Sep-2010 3:20:51 (66768 reads)
Czech portal Amigaportal.cz prepared to download the reconstructed labels for Workbench floppy disks (1.3, 1.3.2, 2.04, 2.05, 2.1, 3.0 and 3.1). If you have other versions of the labels in the preserved condition, please scan them (ideally at 600DPI) and send it to us for processing at e-mail admin@amigaportal.cz.

There are two versions of the labels - retouched in Photoshop (red background) and completely professionally processed at high resolution (green background).

Labels can be downloaded here.

Is this just not an aid to counterfeiters?

@Stephen_Robinson

Not for counterfeiters, but for those who have corrupted the original labels.

Are we really still bothered about a few 20 yeah old + disks being copied?

Seriously, the only one's who are interested anyway probably bought a licence back in the day.

If it's for your personal use, I don't mind having a copy of a adf2disk copy with workbench 3.1, scribbled on in pencil, but if I was to buy a copy of the originals off ebay I'd like them to be just that, as produced by Commodore back in the day, not some reused CU cover disks with one of these stickers on em.

but heck, maybe that's just me.

I think this is an excellent initiative, for collectors or even regular users who give attention to details, while replacing aging original disks or making copies for personal use. Keep it up.

I would have thought that the worry about counterfeiting is for NOT legality, but rather for collectors would like to know they are getting an original disk not some fake.
