| I tried to play a random Youtube link, Via mplayer option (play link) and I get the following error: Unsupported filetype. Try a different "Download Setting" or URL. Tried with getvideo a window appears in the background but after a milisecond it closes down. _________________

Just tried YouTube with ClipDown v3.1 and it's working fine here. You can't play YouTube videos with the "Play Link" setting. You have to use "Auto Action" or "Play with GetVideo" modes. Most likely you have a configuration problem. Do you have wget installed? Does downloading and viewing pictures or PDF file work? What do you see in the console if you turn quite mode off?
Post some details in the forums and I'd be happy to help you out. Best not to do it in the "News" section. _________________ Kevin - X1000 First Contact / A1222+

| I have wget and getvideo installed on the default directories (Mplayer too in SYS:Utilities). Tried to download and open (via auto select action / AmiGS) a random .pdf file. It worked like a charm. However, please note that copy-paste a link of "www.xxx.com/xxx.pdf" format didn't worked inititally and I got an error that HTTPS is not supported (only HTTP and FTP). Still the url was of http:// format (note that in google, when searching, I couldn't display the http:// the links started directly from www). Tried again YouTube via getvideo (option) and only I get a window (console?) in the background opening for some miliseconds before it closes down. With Quite Mode enabled, I get the following information: --08:51:27-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5n8JV7HSlQE&feature=rec-LGOUT-farside_rn-2r-10-HM => `Ram:ClipDownloads/watch?v=5n8JV7HSlQE&feature=rec-LGOUT-farside_rn-2r-10-HM' Resolving www.youtube.com... 74.125.39.190, 74.125.39.91, 74.125.39.93, ... Connecting to www.youtube.com[74.125.39.190]:80... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK Length: unspecified [text/html]

Then, it called AmiGS, for some reason...
Please point me the appropriate forum and we should continue the discussion over there. _________________

Do you have the VPLAYER tooltype set to "SYS:Utilities/Mplayer" ? Did you modify the getvideo.conf file to point to Mplayer?
In the ClipDown.guide file there are instruction for easy installation in the install section. Try following that and see if your problems go away. If they do then we know it's a configuration problem.
If you still can't get it to work, then send me an email at the address found in ClipDown.guide under the "Author" section. I'd be happy to help you further.
If are still having problems and email me, include a copy of your Tooltype settings and a copy of your getvideo.conf file. I'd be happy to help get you going. ClipDown is a bit of a pain to set up but once you get it going it's very useful and worth it. At least I think so.
Send an email and let me know how your getting along with it. _________________ Kevin - X1000 First Contact / A1222+
