Software News   Software News : iBatch goes to Spain + Addhtml
posted by gerograph on 6-Oct-2010 17:47:21 (2679 reads)
As it gets colder and colder here in Germany, iBatch decided to goto Spain. It is about 25°C there... good place to chill out before Xmas time starts.

We (Javiar and me) are very happy to announce availibility of

1) spanish language support for iBatch
2) "Addhtml"

About iBatch
iBatch 1.0 (Image Batcher) allows users to easily convert/rename/renumber/resize/rotate a bunch of pictures at once.
The pictures to be processed can be collected in a "Batchlist".
In order to organize your batchlist ibatch provides a "Viewer" and "Batchlist browser" tool.
The whole program can be perfectly used for organizing/resizing digicam pics.
Furthermore it becomes handy, when you have to convert whole image directories at once.

About Javiar
Javiar de las Rivas translated iBatch into spanish for us. Therefor a big thanks to him !

About "Addhtml"
Addhtml a little Shell/Cli Tool which will be integrated into
iBatch later on.

It creates html files which enable you to easily browse through an image
dir (created by iBatch).

It basically adds html files to a given imagedirectory.
If you then open the generated index.html, you will find
thumbnails on the left side of your webbrowser and full image on the right
side.

The name of the image is written below the image. You can also choose
thumbnail-/framesize and background color !

Find out more about iBatch and download addon and language files at:

www.geobiz.de/ibatch.html

Enjoy
Gero

Nice. I like that navigation concept - as one can tell from a quick visit to http://nbache.dk/ .

Mine is generated with a homebrewn monster of an ARexx program with the help of the NetPBM suite and the JPEG tools, among other things. It does have a few more features built in, such as automatically building pages with or without the use of frames, and one page showing all pictures etc. Mostly stuff I wouldn't bother adding today, but which were handy twelve years ago when I started it, when we had less capable browsers and slower and more unstable network connections than today.

One thing I still have on my to do-list for some rainy day is to have the program add links or buttons for forwards/backwards navigation to the right-hand frame, so you don't need to click in the thumbnail frame every time (and scroll it after N pictures) if you just want to browse through all pictures. That might be handy for Addhtml as well?

Best regards,

Niels

@nbache
Sure, there are heaps of features which might be usefull. I can think of

1. Slideshow
2. back/forward buttons
3. user defineable text
4. better look/feel through nice borders/shadows/...
5. Password Capabilities
6. Download option for fullsized pic...

Whatever, in this case a little proggy added relativly huge usability. I think other parts of my iBatch need more development, so I think this "Addhtml" will stay like it is for a while. I'd rather try to implement EXIF support into iBatch.
But good ideas are always wellcome !

greetings Gero

Hm, rain coming in Spain.... maybe time for iBatch to move to Italy ! But as we just read, we have to be patient... never mind... it took a well know windows batchconverting software over a year to add support for 2 languages.... we already have three, and a fourth one in the pipe
