Perhaps it's about time to start doing some speed tests. Anyone can do that though. It wont be much difference compared to SFS, atleast not initially. IceFS performance should stay good far longer than on equvivalent SFS partitions though. Then again different usage patterns can give different results.. But atleast IceFS provides a) pre-allocation b) pooled meta allocations, both helps to keep fragmentation low. But even on a very large and fragmented volume, finding suitable space for a file is still quick thanks to TLSF algorithm. _________________ Selur erutangis siht

Good question. I think it is quite safe to say there will be no OS4 version. I do not use OS4 and a filesystem is one of those things where you need both full access to the OS/Hardware and full interest in supporting that platform. I lack both. _________________ Selur erutangis siht

| This is the current Amiga problem two PPC machies and one X86 and everyone with theirs developers, and resources lost when the job only is do for one machine or OS, the good way will be programs for the four machines or the half, OS4, MorhpOS, 68k and AROS. Is would produce more potential clients and key solds. |
