| It is such a good feeling! Apple has Frontrow and to be honest the Amiga can now laugh about it : D...... next stop for the AMC Train is MorphOS.... Ian Gledhill has helped us for the first PlugIN.... a CDRipper which can also fetch the Informations via CDDB... coming soon. Mason has send us also his first beta of a AmigaOS Mason Theme... the ball is rolling.
The AMC contest about translating the catalog is running endless... so if you can translate it to any not yet supported language you will get it for free. You have to be a member of the forum on www.a-mc.biz and the first comes first. It could be wise to post a information their that you are working on a translation. Otherwise people could unnecessary do double work... See for example the spanish and greek catalogs. _________________ AROS Broadway - AEROS - Aminux - AmiCloud - indieGO! | I must admit that I tried to run the AmigaOS4.x version on my Pegasos II (G4, 1GHz, 1 GB RAM). To put it in kind words: It seems to wait for the X1000 (minimum!). Didn't bother to try it on my 667 MHz SAM440ep. BTW: Changing theme to MasonDefault doesn't work. _________________ X1000|II/G4|440ep|2000/060|2000/040|1000

| Hi guys, did you use the slow CPU flag? -slowcpu 1 Description is in the news post.
Fabio has done it for his SAM533... If a G4 1GHZ is too slow i would say that the slowcpu flag should be the standard-option for AmigaOS until the X1000 is out.
To help us to fix problems i suggest to post on www.a-mc.biz as central place. Last edited by phoenixkonsole on 05-Dec-2010 at 01:04 PM. Last edited by phoenixkonsole on 05-Dec-2010 at 12:58 PM.

| What exactly do you mean with slow? Slow cursor movement? Slow video playback? I would really like to see if someone could make a Youtube clip showing the speed.... What Screenresolution do you use? _________________ AROS Broadway - AEROS - Aminux - AmiCloud - indieGO! | By the way: I don't like my "startup-sequence" altered by *any* application install script! This is a no-go! If you really have something that should be started during boot please use the "user-startup" and communicate this to the user - and give him the chance to do it himself manually! _________________ X1000|II/G4|440ep|2000/060|2000/040|1000

OMG I'm so sorry! Mason theme It's not finished and it should never ever be there!!!!
Please try the slowcpu flag from the command line or setting the ToolType to gain more speed.Last edited by Allanon on 05-Dec-2010 at 02:45 PM.

| We are using the startup to secure that the WB is loaded before the Recorder scheduler, otherwise it won't work. Since AMC shall work on all systems and some startup-sequences differ + some people have tons of Partitions.... it is the way to go. On some systems it was the case that the user-startup was running parallel to the startup sequence which caused that some part where loaded before the needed systemfiles where..... The lines are marked and a backup of the Startup will be made... i see no problem. _________________ AROS Broadway - AEROS - Aminux - AmiCloud - indieGO! I'm investigating on this, another user has the same issue, can you send me the log file produced by AMC in the T: drawer? _________________ ----- [Allanon] Fabio Falcucci AMC Website // Docs Site // Support Forum // => Patreon <=

This is clearly explained in the manual but you are right, I should put a warning in the installer and let the user confirm the operation. _________________ ----- [Allanon] Fabio Falcucci AMC Website // Docs Site // Support Forum // => Patreon <=

Shouldnt you use WBStartup instead? It ensures the system has loaded completely.
If you alter Startup-Sequence: a) changes will be lost when OS is updated and user has to reinstall your software b) in MorphOS you wont find Startup-Sequence from SYS:S in but from SYS:MorphOS/S (or MOSSYS:S) instead, see reason a) _________________ Amiga Developer Amiga 500, Efika, Mac Mini and PowerBook

| WBStartup is the second best method if you want to use the same install script on all supported systems - for example my AmigaOS4.1 Update 2 systems don't have any WBStartup drawer! It's obsolete since the introduction of the WBStartup prefs program in SYS:Prefs. _________________ X1000|II/G4|440ep|2000/060|2000/040|1000

| AMC starts here on AmigaOne G4 800MHz but the slow scrolling between the buttons is anoying, pity there is no mouse control. Also pressing key a bit too long results in ending up on wrong button, a quick press seems best. If the interface could be made faster in general it would be better. Other thing I noticed is volume names seem to have space before colon ie work : you then need to assign work: which is strange. There is nothing in the demo that makes me want to pay to find if other things work, sorry. |

Please load the theme with the text (LessFX) in it and you will have a better scrolling experience, if you have any other speed issues you can use the -slowcpu flag or the ToolType SLOWCPU=1
About the space problem I'm working on it (already fixed TBH but need to test on computer with problems because on my SAM440ep this things has never come out during my tests)
The main problem is that no-one reads guides, manuals or even the notes about possible slow performances in the docs drawer _________________ ----- [Allanon] Fabio Falcucci AMC Website // Docs Site // Support Forum // => Patreon <=

Imho by default everything should be setuped to show as fast as possible work, and then, user can make it more heavy. Giving by default programm , and say "check readmes, to found why it slow for you" not so friendly for end uses (who of course lazy, and want just run and enjoy :) ) _________________ Join us to improve dopus5! zerohero's mirror of os4/os3 crosscompiler suites

Yep, on x86 it will faster in any case :) Even the same 1ghz celeron with aros will faster than peg2 - 1ghz, just because of faster hw in general (not only cpu make sense, but also all those bus-speeds, ram, etc). Maybe if hollywood will add support of OpenGL , or any other HW accelerated stuff which will handle image drawing, etc, then it will works fast (should be) even on 600-700mhz sams.Last edited by kas1e on 05-Dec-2010 at 05:13 PM.
