I'm really looking forward to seeing AmigaOS4.0 for myself in about 12 hours 20 in Augsburg.
I fear, waiting for release is going to be hard ...

Just to be clear, this is not yet the final default look of OS4.

There are still a number of what, on the surface, most people, would consider to be important elements which are still missing or not yet finalised. This includes a couple of the common UI components and the main overall colour scheme. At the moment we are still mainly concerned with function and compatibility, rather than final appearance.

(So please try to resist bombarding us with further suggestions -- Though thanks for these anyway.) :)

One thing which wasn't included last week, due to the confusion of needing to get proper screenshots to you in a hurry, was the new window frame gadgets. These are now seen in the current images. Please note that not all the gadget images are shown yet. The anti-aliased checkbox, cycle, etc. gadget images are still in progress.

Things are looking really nice!

I agree with Jose though. I hope we get some real reviews on how the system works and most importantly feels.

:)

That dosent make you and idiot just blind

Great work Hyperion can't wait to buy a copy of OS4.

This and last time there were a window of screenmode prefs. And if you look closely you will se that the title 'Display Mode' and 'Mode Properties' are placed diffrent (Center and Left). The window border are also diffrent Right border and Bottom border, is that a Reaction option users can change? I hope so.

These screenshots already look very nice to me. The lighter color scheme is now alot more to my liking than those previous screenshots.

Think you can do better? Do you have graphic and UI related experience? Would you like to co-ordinate collective user AmigaOS4 theme design efforts, then please contact me!

Thank you, but it is really Massimo that people should be thanking. His coding skills are what enabled all this.

Nice. The gradients are better and the gadgets are
looking cleaner. I join in with some other poster (on
a.org I think) that windows used to have the upper and
left edges highlighted and the bottom and right dark.
This is not the case in these shots (or is it just me going blind?). Is that just a
personal preference of the guy taking the screenshot
or an indication of things to come?

The NOVA whitepaper we see in pic1 is in itself a
good sign ...
