Awesome! Loved this game on my PC years ago. Spent MANY hours playing this game's single-player mode on my PC years ago.

Any possibility of an AmigaOS 4 port? Would love to try it out there. Should be able to find my old RTCW CD somewhere.

mmm...

imho the point was:

Can the actual AmigaOS4 3D API run that game at a decent speed?

I hope so and hope also to get that game asap!

As i understand, game playable only on Macs ? If so, taking in accaunt that aos4 current 3d are 40-50% slower, and even the fastest peg2/a1 are slower than macs, i assume its no time to even try to port it. But maybe im wrong and some majesty can happens :)

I am able to play RTCW on my peg 2 with morphos with all details on high and a nice big screenmode full speed no problem at all. Morphos 3d drivers rroxxxx.. (well dont forget Frank Mariak creator of CGFX is involved with Kierowink and Bigfoot who are coding genius' themselves)

@rzookol + realize

Well, imho then its worth to try to port it to os4 even with current drivers. Because details can be lowered and it can be almost playable ..

@kas1e

RTCW is based, as I am sure you already know, on a tweaked and heavily updated version of Q3 engine. Even though the game was considered as "lightweight" back at the date it was released, it was for sure around 20-30% more "bloatware" than Q3. Given Q3 performance on XE and PegII/OS4.x, imho, it might be possible to be marginal (or slightly above marginal) playable by reducing several visual options. For sure it is/will be totally unplayable to lower end models with current state driver limitations.

Very addictive game, and playable even on 500 MHz PowerMac with Radeon 9000 64 MB. Good work!
