Must be here: http://www.os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=utility/workbench/jack.lha

V1.9 is sitting there right now. I imagine that v2.0 will be there soon.

HELP REQUEST TO FIX A BUG:

Can everyone please type Avail in a shell and copy the contents into a Post on here please? The SQL Database is telling me some users have a total of 51MB installed so something is clearly wrong there. Thanks in advance.

EDIT:

If any developers are interested I have uploaded version 0.2 of my Hollywood Common Funtions to OS4Depot. Added a handful of new functions and made the odd correction to the previous 0.1.

Check the upload queue or go to:

http://www.os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=development/example/hollywood_common_functions.lha

Why is that "clearly wrong"? On a classic machine, I'd say it was possible. Marginally so (if you want to run OS4 on it) but not totally impossible. Don't know how it would look if you add the footprint of a comprehensive Hollywood app, though ...

Best regards,

Niels

PS. By the way, here you go:

Quote:

Installeret: 2.147.483.648
Ledig: 1.603.751.936

(The forum wrecks the formatting, though, but hopefully you don't rely on that).

@nbache

At present there are 6 users :( who have signed up to rate software in the App-Store.

Your name is not present. If you Sign-up to the App-Store there is an option to view Community Statistics.

User data is stored in an online database.

All 6 users run AmigaOS 4.1 Update 3
3 users use a screen resolution of: 1920 x 1080
2 users use AmigeOnes
2 users use SAM 440
1 user uses a Pegasos II

There are no A1200/A4000 users in the database at present.

Edit: Your avail output seems as expected.

I'll do as you ask. A1 XE G3 4.1 u3

8.wb:> avail
Installed: 536,870,912
Free: 142,569,472

According to wb window:
5621.1 MB free
412 MB in use

According to Dopus 4.18.27 using check fit:
1,582,301,184 bytes in use
125,546,496 free

According to media toolbox:
size of partition 5.891 GB

So I do not understand what avail is saying at all
Dopus seems to be making a wild guess too

I did think avail gave me the ram in use and free but when I removed a 9.2 MB package from ram; the avail numbers did not change! I have 512 MB of ram.

Noel

Thanks NoelFuller

DOpus will be referring to disk usage. In the database some people have 51MB, I can only assume its dropping the 2 of the end.. 512MB.

Still this annoying erro SYS:S/Curl....

I have never managed to use anything from Jack unfortunately (unsupported resolution : 1366x768, CURL trouble...).

I test every release and each one brings the same problems

It seems like you've got a bunch of usefull things going on here but why on earth do you slab all your apps together into one weird monster app? It would make much more sense to split them up into separate apps. I bet it would be esier to maintain as well.
Keep up the good work!

@spotUP

Yes, Jack is one big commodity application. Some people prefer separate applications for tasks, I like to turn on my Amiga have Jack auto-launch and bring me a myriad of features on tap. The drag-n-drop ability in the commodity window I find very useful. If I don't want Jack, I can iconify to the Workbench.

Maintaining Jack. When I started the project I knew zero about the language its made in so overtime Jack got a little clunky in code. Between versions 1.5 and 2 I knew enough about the language to start doing things better, adding more functions to perform repetitive jobs and reduce code length, restructing the inner workings, and going over old code and improving on it.

Regrettably the odd thing gets broken every now and again I release it, curse afterwards, fix it and re-release. Jack is pretty stable now.

The next thing I'd like to work on is text entry.

That's probably because I'm not a Jack user.

Okay, then I agree it does look like an error to have 51 MB of RAM installed.

Best regards,
