Struggling to put new OSs on my old laptop... (1.8Ghz sempron laptop) (old acer)
It has a broken CD-ROM and is not able to boot from USB. Recently I managed to tune grup to start puppy linux & installed it. So far no luck with Linux Mint.
(I think I have some "syntax error" that I do not seem to easily solve for Mint + different kernels seem to demand different tricks. Puppy seems to help via searching the root device for bootable filesystem image.)
Soon I'll try also AROS. Is there already guide howto boot AROS installation media from HDD with grup? Or how to install it from Puppy Linux.
(btw. Puppy makes the laptop very usable, after bootup it has taken only30MB of the 500MB RAM space and it is pretty responsive. (puppy itself looks like a toy and still is a little behind AOS in responsiveness and not that Amigan friendly))
Also, has anyone managed to get USB shared network working from Android phone with any AmiganOS? Puppy gets it almost right, latest mint seems to handle it straight out of the box.
(one day I might try to get some OS also on 486/33 laptop via floppies ... perhaps tinycoreLinux or just some open source DOS. )(ancient compaq)

Core system and development files are bound to May 4th nightly build, since it's the last one I could test well and see it was stable. So, anything added after that date, must be taken by a new nightly.
