| @ Nikos
yes that did the trick and now I can boot into Apocolapyse ok; however, I can't see my USB stick anymore? strange also that I now see my Windows partitions on the WB screen and my AROS partition icon is the same as the Ram drive icon?
looks like the update installation didnt go to well...i'll try downloading it again and installing it again as a corrupt zip file has done this type of strange behaviour in the past _________________ ____________________________ c64-2sids, A1000, A1200T-060@50(finally working!),A4000-CSMKIII ! I'm quite sure that is the root to the problem. |

| Too many options... icAROS AspireOS Broadway X ...
What are the differences between these distros? What to get for 1Ghz dumbster PC and what for 3Ghz PC....?
Someone should do a review/comparisson. _________________ - KimmoK // For freedom, for honor, for AMIGA // // Thing that I should find more time for: CC64 - 64bit Community Computer?

| Only 3 is already too many ? Naah, 6-7 sounds like too many.
You should try every one of them and not let anyone else choose for you. Run them in Virtualbox for example. _________________ AmigaOS or MorphOS on x86 would sell orders of magnitude more than the current, hardware-intensive solutions. And they'd go faster.-- D.Haynie

| That has to do with the diversity of the platform (and use), f.e. different hardware-platforms (X86, ARM, PPC, 68k) and hosted solutions (f.e. Linux hosted) and use on netbooks, desktops and Tablets. Icaros (X86) is dedicated for Desktops/good Notebooks, AspireOS (X86) for Netbooks (and Notebooks), Broadway (ARM/hosted Linux) for Tablets and my 68k distro for real classic hardware and emulation.
Of course you can use AspireOS also on a desktop. It is a matter of taste. There will certainly also be a Linux hosted X86 distribution in future (i want to do one or a version of Broadway X).
So there will be: AspireOS for lightwight systems (netbook) Icaros for power-machines (desktop) Broadway X (ARM) for ARM-based tablets Aros Vision 68k for classic hardware and UAE a Linux-hosted X86 distribution
When you have a Notebook it depends on how good it is and it is a matter of taste of course. Last edited by OlafS25 on 04-Jun-2012 at 09:02 AM. Last edited by OlafS25 on 04-Jun-2012 at 08:24 AM. Last edited by OlafS25 on 04-Jun-2012 at 08:17 AM.

| Broadway 0.8 for AresOne 2009,2010,2011,2012 Broadway X for ARM (efikaMX and every compatible) and AresOne(and every compatible)...
Why 3 native distributions... because they are different in style and focus of included applications. _________________ AROS Broadway - AEROS - Aminux - AmiCloud - indieGO! Appstore - AmiWallet - VAN lossless video codec - AMC Amiga media Center -KrypUnite - LibertyNet - MinX - amigaNX

| It is a good thing with competition, even if there are no money involved ;)
I think that before when it was only Icaros, the updates did not come as regular as they do now.
Me Pascal and Paolone are all friends, we are not realy competing. I did my distro cause I like things different than the others. This is much a configuration and selection of programs thing. It is not like there is a day and night difference beween the distributions. |

Good job!
What about including HivelyTracker in the next release?
http://www.hivelytracker.co.uk/downl.php
It's actually one of the few "next generation" trackers which has been created exclusively for Amiga OS based systems. |

| Just got funny idea... my neigbour has his 40y birthday soon, I desided to take him some Linux and AROS Live CDs to play with (perhaps also a dumbster PC for his carage). (he has never used anything other than Windows )
Perhaps alternative operating systems get another user... _________________ - KimmoK // For freedom, for honor, for AMIGA // // Thing that I should find more time for: CC64 - 64bit Community Computer?
