Almost no chance what so ever. But A-eon does plan to design and sell successors that they've stated they would like to see MorphOS on.
It would be neat to have something better then the Peg2 that could run both OS4 and MorphOS. |

| Such good news! Even if this bounty gets way past €3000, I'd still contribute to show meaningful support for those that deliver. Everyone knows that MorphOS and AmigaOS suffer from a lack of development - this is what's required to stimulate it. _________________

| The thing with the whole license thing though is this. If everyone who donated 100 bucks was entitled to a license, then there would be no need for a bounty in the first place as I'm sure everyone would then begin to fork over the $100 thus taking $3000 in profits away from the MorphOS team.
Seems to me, everyone who has donated already is already a MorphOS user and I'm sure they are happy to part with their money towards this benefit, and I'm sure they are more than eager to buy additional hardware and an additional license on top of it all.
If I were not jobless and broke right now, I'd be donating for sure, in fact if I run across a spare $15 I will at least donate that much.
On that note I hope I will have money some day soon to put more towards the Dopus Magellan Bounty as well, I'd really like to free that up for AROS and OS 4 users, not to mention all the tweaks and bug fixes it would provide for classic users as well. |

| i have some good news guyz :) I'm copying my post from MorphZone.org:
I have some good news regarding bounty. Thanks to David 'AmigaDave' Morris we will have two models suported. David kindly offered to buy and send PowerMac G5 2.7Ghz - M9749LL/A and he also will spare his own 2.0Ghz model (which was already mentioned in bounty).
As at the first place I was responsible to obtain a G5 for BigFoot my part of 500 euros was paid into the bounty already.
What is more our MorphOS Santa Claus Fraggle said that when bounty reaches 50% he is gonna put in another 50% so we will have bounty completed!
When typing that words we have about 920 euros in bounty already so basically what we need is just 580 euros only! Come one guys, let's make that happen :) |

| Now we have reached 1550 euros. Our dear friend Fraggle will throw in another 1500 euros as soon as his PayPal account will be veryfied. |

The message I received, or read on some forum site was that since BigFoot had sold his Dual 2.7GHz G5 PowerMac, none of the MorphOS Dev. Team members had a G5 PowerMac tower any longer, but that person might have been exaggerating a little bit.
Does not matter now who has one and who does not, since BigFoot has volunteered to complete the bounty work to port MorphOS3.1 to the G5 PowerMac and "someone" is donating a couple of G5 PowerMac's to the project and shipping them to BigFoot.
Some of the MorphOS Dev. Team members who want the extra speed and power of a 2.0GHz, or faster G5 PowerMac, might now decide to buy one of them, since the port appears to be going forward and will be completed.
Now we need some software that can fully use so much power and speed, besides just 1080p video playback. _________________ Amiga! The computer that inspired so many, to accomplish so much, but has ended up in the hands of . . . . . . . . . .

| are the morph team thinking of porting to the ydl powerstation when the g5 port is done?
and , will they move onto the smallest of power6 machines? _________________ Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the highway.

| I think the message was something along the lines of:
"No further support for obscure HW made in homoepathic doses"
Not sure what you mean with "Power6" ? IBM's highend servers ? See above ! _________________ - We don't need good ideas, we haven't run out on bad ones yet - blame Canada

| I'd rather donate to a bounty getting MorphOS on Amiga hardware versus dated Mac hardware! _________________

| The bounty has reached more than 3000 EUR and is assigned now to Bigfoot. Now he needs to receive the G5 and probably late winter (northern hemisphere) we'll see MorphOS for the G5. _________________ My programs: via.bckrs.de MorphOS user since V0.4 (2001)

| the IBM power 520 express is the lowest cheapest power6 server from ibm
4.2ghz dual core with capacity for multiple cpus with capacity for greater cpu power and freq
discontinued now, secondhand units could be got a hold of an ported to just like junk pcs. they have altivec, and this way u dont have to do a architecture change
servers last longer than junk x86 pcs.
check it out, pretty good presentation. http://ibmtvdemo.edgesuite.net/servers/power/demos/power_520_express_deskside/index.html Last edited by Barana on 07-Nov-2012 at 04:36 AM.

| Porting niche os to some in-production Power server would have nice "WOW" effect. _________________ - KimmoK // For freedom, for honor, for AMIGA // // Thing that I should find more time for: CC64 - 64bit Community Computer?
