Amigaworld.net News   Amigaworld.net News :  First Annual AmiWest Developer Recognition Award
   posted by tekmage on 6-Aug-2013 16:41:22 (3179 reads)
Hello Amiga Community!

We are pleased to announce something new for AmiWest 2013. There are two forces keeping the Amiga computer going and thriving, the users and the developers. This effort is to provide recognition for those folks who spend countless hours working to bring new software to the Amiga platforms.

Click READ MORE ===>

The plan is simple: Nominations will start now and starting in October we will have open voting were the top 5 developers will be chosen by the internet community. On October 19th, at the AmiWest Banquet there will be a final vote between the 5 top developers previously selected to see who will the win the award.

The only rules are that the software has been released or updated since October 2012 and runs on an Amiga platform. This is open to all and feel free to suggest more than one developer for the award.

What do they win? We will create a special placard and mail it off.

This is a new project for us so bare with us as we work out all the details and kinks.

Cheers,
Bill

P.S. Here is the link to begin nominating developers!

I'm sure you're a delightful person, Bill, but I have no desire to "bare" with you. However, I will bear with you while you work out the details.

Is this award open to devs working on OS4 for Hyperion, or only for third-party devs?

Your form doesn't work under Mac versions of Chrome or Firefox. Do I have to log-in somewhere?

@OlafS25

Djricki writes for more than amigaos, fab certainly does, the form includes the options for morphos AmigaOs1,2,3, AROS as well a AmigaOS 4 so I think you are just causing trouble. If you truly felt others should be nominated you would nominate them.

Also that list above is not dynamic and so is only the version as of the time of posting.

I have removed my comment. Perhaps I take things like this vote sometimes too seriously

I hope you mean to include "Online" voting, and not just voting from people attending the banquet.

Perhaps it would be better to conduct the voting earlier via some kind of online voting system that limits one vote per IP address, and to announce the winner during the AmiWest banquet?

What about asking for donations to give out a cash prize to the winner? I would be willing to donate a few dollars toward such a prize fund.

Edit: Some names of great contributing Amiga/Amiga-Like programmers on that list. They all deserve our support and praise.
