Such a bug report is about as useful as Lady Gaga in showbusiness Please find my contact e-mail address in the "ADRipper.guide" documentation file, and send me:
- a more detailed information about your system (OS version?) - more information about how you have installed ADRipper, and how you start the program (from the Shell? from the Workbench icon?) - preferably a Snoopy log showing the process of the program starting, up to the point that the error occurs.
Thank you! _________________ The Rear Window blog

| I downloaded this. For some reason I thought it was a port. But to my surprise the size was small and it had a native GUI. Looks like quite a nice and capable utility. I tested it with a CD single I had left in my tray and it even found the track listings Good job.
My only gripe would be that it doesn't scan for CD devices and must be told. Lookked a bit silly when it said there was no CD when I knew there was one in my drive.
It also scanned my HD when it loaded for a while whatever that was about. It didn't tell me what it was doing. Also defaulting to PCM was a strange choice. |

Surely it uses some ported stuff (such as various encoding libraries: MP3lame, FLAC etc.) but otherwise it's an original, fully native AmigaOS4 program with a slick ReAction GUI. It was developed by Adrien aka CentaurZ, then I took over to take care of the maintenance.

Looks like it relies on preferences to select the drive, the default being CD0:. If someone can point me to a CD device scanning code example, I'll try to key it in.

So there are still users with more than one CD device in their system? I barely find any use for one, let alone two

Possibly scanning and registering the plugins, I'll have a closer look.

That is a legacy thing. Historically, ADRipper was only distributed with the built-in PCM plugin. Other plugins (CentaurZ developed two: MP3 and Ogg Vorbis, I developed the rest) had to be downloaded manually from OS4depot. Now that all plugins are in the package, I think it would make sense to change the default to, say, MP3.
Thanks for your input, and if you have some more, please contact me via the e-mail address found in the "ADRipper.guide" documentation file. Better than discussing things in a forum. _________________ The Rear Window blog

Yes, I'm afraid he's packed up all his Amiga activities. What a gig loss, he was a great programmer! But the development of ADRipper goes on, and a new version will be released in May. _________________ The Rear Window blog

Thanks for your help.
"Out of Memory Error" means AISS is not installed, funny!
It works now. _________________ I´m back in 2023 on Classic Amiga with my A1200/Blizzard1230IB@50Mhz, 32MB RAM, AmigaOS3.2 and ROMs, Indivision AGA MK3, Author of Amiga-Flipclock (OS4)

Fixed for version 1.13, thank you for reporting!

The error message came up because the original code assumed failure not from a missing image, but from bitmap object creation. So the program thought that the object failed because of memory, not because the source image file was not found. What is indeed hilarious here is that the missing image in question referred to some half-finished eyecandy that was never used in the program, so the file was in fact not needed at all _________________ The Rear Window blog

Really bad news
CentaurZ also made sone really nice AmiDock dockies that needs IMHO some improvements... Maybe. Can you get development of them? Last edited by Tuxedo on 01-May-2015 at 07:07 PM.

I'm afraid I can't I have projects of my own to take off, and ADRipper is already draining too much of my free time. Digging in somebody else's code isn't the greatest fun under the Sun, and I just can't imagine taking more of this.Last edited by Trixie on 01-May-2015 at 07:53 PM.
