| How does this "Virtual" switcher work without a Toaster card to provide the camera inputs? Can modern video cameras connected to the host OS via USB connections show up in the emulated Amiga as Toaster inputs?
Exciting news, and congrats and thanks to all who have made this possible. Maybe there is hope to save the Newtek Video Toaster/Flyer interface and way of editing video files, and move it into the future, hopefully with upgraded capabilities, such as HD video editing capabilities, instead of only working on antique NTSC video standards.
I know at least one video professional who would love to go back to using the Video Toaster interface to do his work, if he could do it on modern hardware via emulation. |

These are early times in this Alpha software release. There is no way to do hardware switching yet. This software allows to you run the Video Toaster's interface and hopefully soon 3rd party software that came out for the Amiga Video Toaster. Consider yourself an alpha tester with this free software. If you enjoy it and want more features/functionality added send us an e-mail with your requests. Nice to hear people still love the great interface of the Classic Amiga Video Toaster.
NewTek sells brand new modern video editing/live switching products that are very powerful solutions for today's world that do HD and recently announced 4K! If modern switching/live streaming is something you need their latest hardware/software would be right for you or anyone that needs those features. | @DiscreetFX,
Unfortunately there is very little money to be made by one man video editing studios any more, and my friend who used to make a good living with only his A2000 & A4000 with Video Toaster/Flyer and a few video cameras, mic's and lighting options, can now only make some spare change from the same clients. There just doesn't seem to be the same demand, or willingness to pay video professionals for their hard work any more.
When he couldn't get his Video Toaster and A2000 & A4000 serviced any longer, I think he switched to the Vegas video editor on the PC, because it was cheap, and the NewTek gear and software was too expensive for the income stream he could produce with it. I think he still does a small bit of work on the Video Toaster/Flyer, as it still does things better and faster than any other systems. |

Nice to hear he still gets some important use out of the Retro Amiga Video Toaster/Flyer. NewTek's latest gear is awesome if he can find the budget to buy it. It sounds like he would have to save up. _________________ Sent from my Quantum Computer.

| Hello all.
I've just read news and had to login to ask straight question:
- I am trying to understand but does it mean that with those software I will be able to start, let's say - a MovieShop or similar Amiga software and be able to load video clips (.avi, .mov, .mp4...) into Amiga x1000, Sam460ex or Amigax5000 and be able to edit video files on Amigas and export new videos, like you can do today in AdobePremiere for example? _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com
