| Over the past few years I think the view of most Italians has become quite negative about this union of unequals and that's before we get on to the subject of a vaccine.
Eastern Europeans (Hungarians and Poles in particular) are questioning the usefulness of this rotten union in ever larger numbers...
It's funny how how the EU commissioner compared the EU to a giant supertanker, for a person fond of lying for once she was right. They are a supertanker, once that is stuck in the Suez Canal at this present time with no easy way out..
Made in Italy used to signify quality and craftsmanship and still does, it's a good thing to market in my opinion. _________________ Amigaone X5000/20 4GB Radeon RX 550 Polaris 12 AmigaOS4.1 Final Edition Update 1 Amiga 1200 Workbench 3.1.4 Amiga CD32

| @Outrun1978 : As a frenchy, I can only agree with you and tell you that many french peoples (and I am in) are quite negative about this union of unequals, to use your words. The vaccine shown us some of the true limit of this union. There are things that, if we see them in a timeline, that are really strange .... |

| My recollection is a bit hazy, how does the Sam compare speed wise to the illusive A1222 from A-EON? If Sam is a bit faster, is there any other reason to wait for the A1222 besides availability and price, will the A1222 accept newer graphics card with better video decoding, 3D drivers etc? _________________ 4000T/BFG9060 CD32/Elsat ProModule, TF360 CD32/ Edu's CD32 <> A1200 Adapter, Vampire V2 CD32/ FMV Module

"to wait" in the amiga world means "can be never". If you can get sam, go for it. If you can get tabor, go for it. Whatever will be first. Speed-wise Tabor can be a bit faster there and there, but it has incompatible CPU choice, mean most of FPU stuff is emulated in software =>slow and buggy => some apps will just not works, or works wrong, or slow. _________________ Join us to improve dopus5! zerohero's mirror of os4/os3 crosscompiler suites

| In short: Tabor should be a little bit faster (with using one CPU-core) except the FPU is used. FPU-operations will go through an emulator/wrapper or have to be rewritten for the Tabor "FPU"-unit.
Other advantages: It has a smaller form-factor, onboard GPU, faster and more RAM and a second CPU-core.
The second CPU-core and more RAM can't be used with AOS4 (hopefully in the future) but with Linux.
Saying that: SAM460 is a solid an proofed AOS4-system and worth the money. Last edited by AP on 26-Mar-2021 at 10:06 AM. Last edited by AP on 26-Mar-2021 at 08:46 AM. Last edited by AP on 26-Mar-2021 at 08:45 AM.

| @AP You forgot to add a very big and major issue with Tabor taking aside the FPU issues: it needs a new OS4 to be released with it, which, when it comes to Hyperion may or may not happens. While with SAM there already OS4 released supporting all the stuff.
Having all those legal battles and Ben still leading Hyperion, it can be very well there will be a lot of issues to release an OS4 for Tabor if it ever will happen at all. _________________ Join us to improve dopus5! zerohero's mirror of os4/os3 crosscompiler suites

| @ kas1e: I agree. In the Amiga-world it's better to buy hardware when available. So if you want a AOS4-system now it's maybe better to go for a SAM460. _________________ AmigaOne X5000/40, 2.2 Ghz, 4 GB RAM, Radeon R9 280X, M-Audio Revolution 5.1, 240 GB SSD

With ACube producing brand new Amiga hardware, further pressure is put on its competitor A-EON and its own line of PowerPC based Amiga systems. |
Since Acube is producing the A1222, then I guess this means they are putting pressure on themselves? heh.

Not to mention there has been zero public information from this parent "company" as to whether anyone has or will replace Timothy.
Nor has the parent "company" bothered to announce whether an OS4 team lead even exists.
Nor has anyone bothered to address parts shortages.
Nor....
Well, you get the idea...

| @number6 There are probably no fools anymore who want to be controlled by Ben, while he doing dirty games with everyone. Things will move faster and better forward only when Ben leaves us. At the moment and Timoty, and Costel, and Benny, all stop working and helping him. And while Ben doesn't want to sell Hyperion to someone else, he will try to find other fools/slaves who will do work for him for free, while he will sue and lie to everyone. I do not know when he will realize it is time to sold it out all. Probably he can sit on those copyrights forever for no reassons.
Damn, how some of us love that amigaos4 crap, that we are even ok with persons without decent morale to control the things and helping such ppls for free. Last edited by kas1e on 26-Mar-2021 at 11:40 AM. Last edited by kas1e on 26-Mar-2021 at 11:37 AM.

Friend number6,
what is that greybeard with the twitching shoulder doing then? The guy who's working on "ExecSG" to oh yes, oh! yes! enable multicore support on OS4?
Was this other vaporthing actually completed by some miracle of miracles, not unlike what happened with Amos Pro Etc., would it be even possible to release it all, if OS4 is now fully in the grease-and-blood-dripping claws of BH alone?
Should I leave the comfort of my silken, gold-trimmed duvet and suit up to help shoulder-guy with my soon to be patented motivational techniques?

Steven is ExecSG team lead, not OS4 team lead, if that's what you refer to.

You hit on a great point imo. "love"...
There are people who work for the love, to simply "get the work out", regardless of the situation.
But there are those who look at this instead from a standpoint of morals/ethics/values.
You can witness this same drama concerning OS3.x as well. In the end, it becomes a personal choice which way you look at things.

As a person living in Italy near the border with Slovenia, I can tell you that at least the people living here have an opposite view on the EU. Many of us have relatives living on the other side of the border, and/or live in one country while working in another. The are divided between three countries (Italy, Slovenia and Croatia), but thanks to the Schengen agreement, the common Euro currency and other agreements (such as same tariffs for roaming SIM data transfers) life has become much easier for us. Now that the borders are closed because of the coronavirus we are again locked, and we can't wait for them to be opened again. Sorry for the OT.

Fortunately, this is completely untrue. Please do not confuse the Poles with "our" government. They (gov) play their ugly games.
In February 2020, 89% of respondents support for Poland's presence in the EU was expressed; 7 percent were against, 4 percent expressed indecision. It is one of the highest number in EU. The funny is the study was made by a government agency.Last edited by mr2 on 26-Mar-2021 at 04:04 PM.

The ship stuck in the Suez Canal is a cargo ship. It carries shipping containers (not oil). Supertankers are too big for the Suez Canal. |
