This isn't directly AmiWest related, but the area's nicest mall, the Westfield Galleria at Roseville, was the victim of arson yesterday. A good portion of the mall was damaged, and no one's sure when the rest of the mall will re-open. So, if you and your significant others plan on shopping, Arden Fair Mall is your best bet. It's significantly closer to the hotel, but you'll have to put up with all the local teenagers. If you're looking for upscale shopping, the next closest malls are Union Square and Westfield San Francisco Centre in San Francisco.
Sacramento itself doesn't have much to offer in terms of unique shops. You really need to go to San Francisco for that. _________________ Sam440ep-flex 733 MHz/1 GB RAM/Radeon 9250/AmigaOS4.1 Update 2 borked A1200/Blizzard1260+SCSI-IV/Z4+MediatorZIV/Deneb/Voodoo3/CatweaselMk3 more borked A1200/MBX1200z/Indivision A500/clockport/RRNet A600/A603 |

Vendors and guests have been arriving. Hyperion, A-Eon, and many others are already setup.
Please refer to amigakit's link in the preceeding post for a few updates concerning hw.
Still no exact time for either show opening (which may get moved earlier by 1/2 hour) or broadcasts. We'll post the info as soon as confirmed.

It's a wonderfully overcast morning here in the Sacramento valley. No sunny California today, I'm afraid; however, our friends from Northern and Western Europe should feel right at home. Only a week ago, we were still having weather in the 90's (F). _________________ Sam440ep-flex 733 MHz/1 GB RAM/Radeon 9250/AmigaOS4.1 Update 2 borked A1200/Blizzard1260+SCSI-IV/Z4+MediatorZIV/Deneb/Voodoo3/CatweaselMk3 more borked A1200/MBX1200z/Indivision A500/clockport/RRNet A600/A603 |

They should be setting up now. I suspect, however, that the free-flowing Pacific Northwest microbrews from last night will put a bit of a damper on the morning cheer. _________________ Sam440ep-flex 733 MHz/1 GB RAM/Radeon 9250/AmigaOS4.1 Update 2 borked A1200/Blizzard1260+SCSI-IV/Z4+MediatorZIV/Deneb/Voodoo3/CatweaselMk3 more borked A1200/MBX1200z/Indivision A500/clockport/RRNet A600/A603 |

Show setup scheduled for 9:00 a.m. is underway.
Part of that involves the broadcast equipment.
@kas1e
It will be hard to show the setting up, since the equipment to do that is being set up. Heh. Maybe someone is there with another camera for that, but I can't deal with finding that out, atm.
Patience...

I think the meetings last night ran late as well.

I stayed until 10:00 PM last night, just before the presenters and sponsors finished their meeting. It looked like ~30 people. I didn't count. I'm at home now and won't be back at the hotel until just before 11:00 AM. _________________ Sam440ep-flex 733 MHz/1 GB RAM/Radeon 9250/AmigaOS4.1 Update 2 borked A1200/Blizzard1260+SCSI-IV/Z4+MediatorZIV/Deneb/Voodoo3/CatweaselMk3 more borked A1200/MBX1200z/Indivision A500/clockport/RRNet A600/A603 |

People are still arriving. I am told the earliest the feeds will be available - about an hour. That's still ahead of schedule actually. I'll keep you updated.

If they are on schedule, Amiwest 2010 is now open.
I understand the broadcast feed is not available yet. Last I checked the webcams were also "off". Unless someone posts when these become available...all we can do is check from here.

The stream at
h*t*t*p://stream.ziaspace.com:8000/;stream.nsv
is asking me for a username and password... are those available or am I doing something wrong? Last edited by WolfToTheMoon on 23-Oct-2010 at 05:48 PM.
