So end of story... the amiga users who paid for it will never get the port to amigaos in my view. I think they got the windows version at least so better than nothing.

No, I never received the Windows version and I did prepaid.

Amiga NG isn't a 'real' platform in the normal sense of the word!

One good thing about this unreal platform is that it doesn't have pricks of your magnitude.

@Trixie

I guess it smarts that everything is "When it's Done!" ?

RGL/Cloanto, the Apollo Team, Stephen Jones and Matthew Leaman and the PiStorm/Emu68 guys just get on with it, releasing products and developing software whereas Wings! Remastered is a "simmer for life and we'll reveal it at Trevor's funeral" type title!

Let me be clear:

THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN PICKED UP BY A-EON/The AAA Glossy Shoe Box Consortium/Belgian shell company #1 AND BUNDLED WITH THE A1222+ ON ITS LAUNCH!!

That was the only way to spin this for good marketing! Epic fail...again!!!!

Heh, have you forgotten how long it took to actually have something from Natami/Apollo team, and how long you had to wait for batches when there finally was something concrete? And Matthew "the black hole" Leaman... I suggest to count the ratio of projects that should have been available through him and what's actually been released :P

Best answer I've seen on this site in a long time. Gonna bookmark this one.

@Thread

It's the most elitist platform known to man whereby one man; Dan, the developer can play Wings! Remastered on the AmigaNG! Priceless!

@BigD

Since he is the developer, he has that unique right. Hopefully we can buy it from him one day in the future.

@DiscreetFX

Hilarious! A £1.79 PC game ported to AmigaNG but emulated on a Quantum Computer because all PPC chips are gone and AmigaOne machines dead! I don't think I'll live to see that!

Good to know that you do not believe people should be paid for the work they do.

@Derfs

I don't believe I said that!

My suggestion was that the A-EON/AAA Glossy Shoe Box Corporation/Belgium Shell Company No.1 buy out both the developer and whatever Cinemaware IP squatter would stand in the way of an AmigaNG release and ACTUALLY bundle it as an A1222+ launch title! i.e. like the old Commodore bundles!

It was the only to get rid us of this stink and put this appalling chapter of A1222+ development to bed IMHO! Tower57 is nice but considering the length of A1222+ development and the problems with the weird SPE and the exotic Parachute solutions or native FPU porting required, Wings! Remastered running well COULD have reassured the naysayers (me included). Spoilers: It didn't go down this way!

@hardwaretech

But if Dan 'The Man' and his investor angel Trevor fixed it so that it worked with an analogue joystick, that would definitely justify the 'cheap' A1222+ AmigaNG dongle for sure IMHO!

Fine, let's forget about this and go back to playing Spencer!

I'd have thought you might be more interested in the progress of Dan's current 68k projects, Souverän Soccer and Hyperborea.

@Rob

Souverän Soccer looks pretty good.

Hyperborea, not so much. I never cared for bullet-hell games. Too chaotic.
