yes, what i dislike the most is being left in the dark with no status update!
i sold my pegasos for that.
the mos-team were kinda silent and no info no status update to let the users knows.
this is unacceptable.
we need to know. i hate being left in the dark without info about whats going on.
it make me feel like "i don't need to know, i'm insignifiant, small user, doesn't deserve respect..
i hate this.

eyetech, hyperion don't play it like morphos team, keep ppl informed, keep ppl in the light.
if you persist remaining silent and ignoring users, they will leave..
is that what you want?

so be serious, put a os4 feature list on the os4 official site,
do a status update, keep ppl informed about whats going on under the hood
then say for when os4 is scheduled, even if it's not accurate, it will alway be time to update this statement.

at first you were normaly communicative and all of sudden no more..
did you applyed for a special training stage at genesi or mos-team?

OS4 is being worked on and does exist as proven by the beta releases. New hardware is being worked on. The reason for not giving any dates is what you can see by this thread. X-mas was said as a goal and not a FINAL date. But people only say.. hey x-mas is almost here where is it? And for the status updates... I think we got them a lot. Just a few days ago about ACK, Troika a lot.

This is not going to work. This is what they did before and when the date was there and no OS/hardware people went nuts.

What people in this thread want is FINAL dates and you just cannot give them. The past showed us that this does not work. Even, like you said, you just say it and when it is there you can change it. Not going to work.

Waiting patiently ? I believe they can use os4upd3 cant they ? Its not like
the time when we had to use linux.
And what should the people that wait impatiently or the pc users when they
see that theres a cool amigaos but no HW. And read reviews like this os has flaws here and there etc. I dont mean it has as im no betatester.
As said rather get an update in between until more hardware comes.
Even if i like it this way it doenst mean there will be any versions before
the final thing. There is no real difference for me to get a final sales version then have a running version on the computer. Beta or not, the important thing its running and Hyperion is updating it and everyone betatesting/find problems to be fixed.

Just see my new Virus TI synthesizer. Sounds good but i cant dump midi (save the instruments to my harddisk as backup). Where is the problem, in the virus itself or in the drivers for amiga. My old Virus IndigoII works ok. Both coders on amiga and the tech support at Access (virus) are trying to help but we dont know where the problem is.
This is what i mean. You could get os4 final but if it has problems and no hw to buy there wouldnt be that good reviews on magazines/pages etc.

well i for one when i was on pegasos, i was looking at how hyperion and os4 team were so communicative, open, and it seemed to progress well.
i was envious, so i bought an amigaone

now it just looks like the morphos/pegasos crisis.
noone speak, news are filtered, ppl kept in the dark and so on.
well if you want os4 for you only, then keep it i don't care, i'm gonna drop my amigaone and buy a pc with linux end of story. what do you want me to do ?!

ppl do a lot of effort supporting the amiga (i'm speaking about community here) the minimum is to have them informed about whats going on.

right from start i think everyone owning an amigaone should be allowed to be betatester!1
which is what we are all anyway.

i find it bitter to be kept in the dark,
i feel it painful to wait for updates while privileged ppl are already having em
i think the minimum is to throw us some "bones to make us wait

i want openness, features list, release date, progress reports, screenshots, interviews

Well, if there's nothing to say, what should we say ?

Since roughly half a year, there's only bugfixing going on... features are frozen mostly, and most people are working on finishing their pats of the system. It's only natural that there's nothing new to report in that time (or do you want to hear how many bugs have been fixed in the course of last week ?).

The feature list has been on Amiga's site for ages. This is still valid.

Like I said in the previous post: Since half a year, we're bugfixing... at the earlier stages, we can put forward information like "we have implemented this" or "There's a new feature, that". But when you reach the point where everything is implemented, there simply isn't anything that you can say anymore, except "Wait until we announce a release date".

In the beginning it was like that. But the result was that a lot of people said some very nasty things. A date was set and (of course) not made so it sucked and the people involved are . So instead of having that and loose a lot of time on responding to it on forums they decided to stay more quiet.

You mean always have the latest version to play with. Makes sense. Really since I can produce the most weird problems in the world. And no not because I have an SE. But the latest version (non stable) is likely not going to work on a lot of machines. For the beta releases it happens sometimes but for that their is support. But imagine suddenly having a lot of users with problems and they want help. And that is going to happen. And not everyone is that good to follow technical problems. And also the betatester are testing parts what means you cannot really use them. If you are such a tester you do need to give feedback. And what most users want is a working system and not trying out things.

it's how it look like from user point of view. doubt, questions , fear etc
just because we are in the dark.
it's no good.

you know we like you, we like os4, we like amiga, so, please let us know,
and time to time show us some goodies. it will give us a good reason to wait.
