@bbrv

instead of forum games, why dont you contact the appropriate people privately? there are os4 hardware projects in the works that have done just that.

Great.

I also think it would be more grown-up if this site could feature front page links out to morphzone and genesi as well as Hyperion and OS4 hardware partner sites (when ready).

New or returning people who bump into this site first don't need all the smoke and mirrors with sites not linking etc. The same goes for other sites!

The way I see it is a user/dev who gets involved with Peg, A1, OS4, MOS or AROS is an Amiga user/dev and this makes the whole community more viable. Any users/devs lost from any of these platforms due to politics or bickering is a loss to us all.

We are. The only way to communicate with Amiga Inc. is through lawyers. We started the process yesterday. Putting all this in public does two things:

1. Informs the Community where the real obstacles are.

2. Helps develop support for alternate solutions that we will take if Amiga Inc. once again fails to comply (think EFIKA).

We just agreed to an interview. This should bring many details to light. There are significant misunderstandings which are very wrong that are being bantered about by some as fact.

We are keeping an open mind to the future, which is why we added the link. You are on a bigger stage now. We hope it goes well. Certainly, the Power.org folks will be stopping by AW.net. This technique works. After all, this is how we got Wind River interested in MorphOS.

Is your blog meant to be a parody of Fleecy Moss?

Well, here you go, aw.net. You wanted to be all fair and equitable and this is the thanks you get. Ol' billy boy has decided to start stumping for another go at getting his hands on AOS right here in your back yard.

Congratulations.

Maybe his blog has become a victim of the AW.net effect. You know, like being slashdotted but less severe.

@bbrv

BBRV I can’t get in to that site, but I starting to get way Amiga Inc is not right for the community, for one thing they have stopped communicating in forums and press releases, and from outsider it looks impossible to get licence from them, to get AmigaOS4 ported to some hardware, 20 000 Euro demand from Hyperion can be the issue, it’s not that big of demand.

Eyetech / Mai logic as also failed, considering they can’t or won’t produce new models, the only options is Troika / Ami’05 or any of the other hw products planed, but it’s unclear if the licence is in order from Amiga Inc, and the lack of communication simply drives the OS4-community mad.

I hope one day you can make a deal directly whit Hyperion and skipping Amiga Inc that only seams to draw cash from its name and copyrighted ROM images (Amiga Forever), maybe I should give them some credit for OS3.5/3.9 and allowing OS4.0 to happen, but it’s not like they investing any thing in it.

To everyone having trouble loading the site:

I see it gets stuck on a .js file its trying to load. If I cancel that one file, the rest of the site loads up. (except for the comments, which seem to be cut off)

Trial by Fire

There is it:

[amigaworld button here]

You can find it next to the MorphZone button on PPCZone.org in the right column under the heading Other Resources. Thanks DaveyD.

Alternate operating systems are featured in PPCZone Projects - particularly for the EFIKA - so do get registered and tell us about your ideas. While you are there, we would appreciate your thoughts on the Power.org Developer Conference now being planned. We will do our best to have as many of you as possible included. Let's see if we can be amigos!

That is one small step for us that we hope will lead to one giant leap forward for the Amiga Community and personal computing in general.

Again: We would be happy to provide the hardware. Thanks for listening.
