There's that photo of the stacks of boxes containing X1000 motherboards. They're not all open, but there are some on the table near the stacks for demonstration purposes.

There's that video of the pick and place robot assembling an X1000 motherboard. OK, the video doesn't show all 250 (if I remember correctly) of the beta boards being built, but we now know the production line works.

There's those photos on A-Eon's site that show the boards under thermal testing.

There's even one or two screenshots of pre-beta AmigaOS running on the thing. Not to mention the appearances at shows.

What you seem to want is a photo of someone claiming to be one of the beta testers holding an X1000 motherboard and a copy of OS4.2 alpha. Such a photograph would reveal nothing we don't already know. Except for the appearance of one of the beta testers, of course. Not that you'd accept that as evidence - I strongly suspect that you'd soon be back with the theory that its really just Trevor in a wig with a board photoshopped in... And if not you, then someone with an axe to grind would.

Just wait for Amiwest. You're on the same continent, why not head over and interrogate the bosses themselves, rather than just frothing away on these forums?

Maybe you have already done this... if not, I'd suggest becoming a subscriber to the Yahoo X1000 group and view the pictures under the members photo section?

There are maybe 30 pictures there. I believe those photos meet your criteria, but I'm not sure if you'd find them satisfactory. The photos here show boards being assembled, packaged for shipping, running AmigaOS 4.1 and Debian, more of the board under testing, the "gold" board etc. etc.

Surely you can just follow the link to that group and go see yourself. I'm not going to replicate those pictures here. Just don't have the time or care to go to all that trouble. Not when you can easily go see for yourself. If you want to see the pictures that hopefully meet with your approval, just head over there and subscribe to the Yahoo X1000 group.

Once you have viewed the 30 or so photos there, please let us know if you think those pictures are sufficient to satisfy your need for status on the X1000 project.

It wouldn't really make a difference, would it? A picture or a word does not, by magic, make the X1000 appear on the shelves in the shops. And what would it proof? The 'nay' sayers will be too eager to call it 'Photoshop' or 'Fairy-tales'. And why, oh, why should they even bother? All they will get is the usual load of nonsense about them which is not encouraging to carry on.

I doubt much more can be said at this point by the team. They just should be starting-up, trying to hunt-down bugs. If found any and they are hardware related then a solution has to be engineered and before those solutions can materialize a period of about 12 weeks have to be taken into account. Those changes need to be tested... so I guess it will take some time for the X1000 to be at a point it can be sold.

Yes I'm a believer! Unfortunately I haven't got the funds nor the room to justify joining the beta-testers team, also I lack the needed programming talent. This, however, does not stop me from hoping and believing this machine will hit the shops and amaze the true Amiga-users.

There is another man living on a farm on the next hill, some miles away. He doesn't know what is happening in the town and the townspeople don't come out to see him. He could drive his car/ride his horse/walk to the town, but he prefers to stay on his farm. Instead he writes letters - lots of them - to everyone in the town, asking "WHY THE HELL DOESN'T ANYONE TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON OVER THERE?"

in my opinion its boredom. as soon as people get occupied with something, erm.. something "positive".. there is no more so much time for "moaning". unfortunatelly there is obviously not enough distraction provided here. i would propose everybody not satisfied with os4 or mos should get involved and help out with aros. later it can be adopted back by what alternative evolves best anyway.
