ACube apparently updated its AmigaOne 500 line. Only visible changes are new tower case and use of Radeon R7 250 (not HD 5450 as in older systems).

I wonder, why there was no formal announcement?

Acube have had the Amigaone 500 plus machine advertised for a few months on their website, however trying to get hold of one has been a little difficult... the minute a batch of sam460cr boards go on sale within a few days there is no more stock.


Some of this could actually be Acube deciding to limit the number of units being assembled at any one time to help fulfil orders.....when I ordered my machine last year they pretty much had to suspend sales after a few weeks of a new batch going on sale in order to ensure that those who had an order paid could have their machines built and sent out....

on another note I quite like the new case, its an improvement on the original

They only had sales in 2012 and the tail end of 2014 to the beginning of 2015 (for sam460). Thats all, 95% of the time its just a web site with nothing for sale but a few little things. I was in touch with someone there from the beginning of 2014, we exchanged many, many emails and everything I was told never happened. I bought just an AmigaOne X1000 even though I wanted one of each. I don't think they are interested in making money. How do you make money when even t-shirts are out of stock starting in August ??

I too have the Club3D Radeon R7 250E LP card plugged into my Amigaone 500 machine.

Amazon sell it currently for around GBP 80

It is a re-badged Radeon HD 7750 card and it works with the Warp3D drivers 😊

hmm nice looking machine.

Fan mounting holes in the fan grille? The air can go around it and cancel, like a woofer out of a box. need an adapter plate or big fan.
