Announcement   Announcement : Hyperion Entertainment - AmigaOS4 News
   posted by Mikey_C on 13-May-2004 21:01:00 (13238 reads)
Leuven, Belgium - May 13 2004.

After consultation with our German CD production partner, House of Audio, Hyperion Entertainment is pleased to announce that the Developer Pre-Release of AmigaOS 4.0 is now tentatively scheduled for May 21th, 2004.

The AmigaOS 4.0 CD will be distributed through your AmigaOne dealer.

(Edited for clarity)
From Rogue:
We are expecting to get the CD's on monday or tuesday (note: expecting. It depends on things like the german postal services to work as expected, the CD's actually shipping to us etc).

Really, we're probably talking about a week more if that's the production start date.

Well, like I said that date is when we expect to send off the CD's to the dealers. As I said there had been some delay caused by the printing stuff (need to use a white background, and a line extending over a fold in the package). Nothing serious, but it can easily cause a couple days delay..

When users start getting the discs, that will be big news.

I agree. Ideally this would have started on the show in Essen, but that's already tomorrow.

@hnl_dk, nice
@General - another step taken on the long and windy path to AmigaOS4

Now all I need is for Eyetech to make the MicroA1 available for public sale... just as soon as they get a big enough order

Me too!

I don't see the A1/mA1 as a main computer to do serious work [as yet], more of a hobby so I can get back to enjoying programming. (I'm so sick of MFC/win32 stuff )

Maybe one day I'll be able to write a useful app for AOS4+

Hey, where did the box cover go??????

It used to be in the "OS4.0 box cover finally revealed! (moderators note: nice joke, but not real )" thread.

Hey x56h34, any chance of getting it back up?

AmigaOne! AOS4.0! The featherweight powerhouse!!!!!

I dont understand.. is Hyperion going to mail the CD's to the dealers on the 21st? (tentatively)?

Hmmm, I am not clear on the date either. I am guess the 21st is the date that Hyperion will be shipping to the Dealers???

BTW. Great job guys! So dependnig on shipping, if my Dealer get the CD on the 21st, I may have OS 4 by the end of the month :) YEA!!!!!!!!

Lot's of money? with a smaller userbase than the Amiga?

Hmmmm, given the past history, I would say it's about as likely as me winning the National Lottery.
