There, there pudding. I'm sure there'll be something for you to play with along any... time... now...

But whilst you wait, hundreds if not thousands of MorphOS compatible systems are sold on Ebay every single day,, so why not you pick one up and give it a try?

There are millions of computers ou there which are abl eto run MorphOS. It's pretty easy to get a suitable machine. laptop, big tower, small case - whatever you want, it's all available.

This release was a bugfix only release. Hence, no new features/drivers included.

So far so good.

I've noticed that my PowerBook seems a bit more responsive and disk operations seem to take less time. Whether these are placebo effects I'm not sure.

It appears to be running a few degrees cooler and the fans don't seem to be kicking in as much under load.

Will try to upgrade my G5 in the next few days if I get time.

@Boot_WB
Not so easy when you live in a country where you have to first pay taxes and then the most expensive toll handling fees in all the world just for importing it through ebay. On top of that you have the shipping costs.
The Norwegian equalent to ebay rarely has such systems.
It is just not worth it for a outdated underpowered system. I want a modern but affordable system that can handle cpu intensive tasks like hd video.
The only thing that can save MorphOS is by porting it to x86.

@IntuitionAmiga
I explain that in my last post..
Here is the Norwegian auction site: http://www.qxl.no/pris/data-hardware/apple/l/cn26769/
It is easier finding a classic amiga system than a g4 mac that actually works with MorphOS.

The even more sad part is that i found a g3 ibook in trash years ago, but was told there are no plans to even port it to that model...

Still no plans to support anything G3, so trash is still the right place for that iBook

...had a change to play with MOS3.3 and AOS4.1 machines that worked rather than crashed/lost USB every now and then...

btw. after browsing through 3.3 I did not spot any themes changer (or whatever), so that one could try some more Amigalike desktop than default MOS.

Actually I was wrong.. I got the G4 ibook, but for some reason they wont even support that.. Believe the excuse was that the mouse or usb driver was different than the powerbook, so they are too lazy or incapable to even port that now.

How can anyone think that MorphOS will survive in long term if it does not move to new hardware?? Eventually those powerbooks and mac minis will become too slow and outdated as well, which i think is already pretty much the case.

If you just want ot change the appearance of windows etc, then the global MUI settings (all MUI applications including Ambient) can be changed in:

RMB on desktop > Settings > MUI

To change the appearance of just Ambient (desktop environment, file browser, various utilities, etc) you would use Ambient MUI settings:

RMB on desktop > settings > Ambient MUI

You can either change individual settings, or right-click to choose from the available skins/themes. More skins are available to install via Grunch, or to install the traditional way just download them from morphos-files.net.

If you want to change Ambient's behaviour more towards 'Workbench' mode, see here (Basically disable 'browser' mode to get rid of useful navigation buttons, and disable icon autosorting to enable 'spatial' mode).

Good news! Since 3.2 (well, 3.3 due to boot issues on some models) MorphOS supports ALL G4 iBooks.

?

It is supported. However, MorphOS 3.2 had an issue with some iBook models refusing to boot properly. This is fixed in MorphOS 3.3.

I see they have more Macs on sale there than Amigas.

I tried some googling and found this site: mac1.no. I dont even speak norwegian...

Those Macs sell fast. Be quick.

I take back what I said about the ibook g4.. This is what happens when you stop visiting amiga sites for a longer period of time. Good they finally ported it so that I can actually use the ibook for something.

The only G4 Macs that don't work with MorphOS are those with an nVidia card and it's simple enough to make them work by swapping the card for a Radeon.

There are plenty of supported models on that mac1.no page btw.
