Events   Saku 2014: Photo Reports and Highlights!
Events posted by jPV on 17-Nov-2014 14:06:53 (2915 reads)
Finnish Amiga Users Group's Saku 2014
The event was held in Tampere, Finland, on September 20th and the event was crowded out by an estimated 200-300 visitors.

Highlight of the event was Petro Tyschtschenko's (Commodore/Amiga International) and Michael Battilana's (Cloanto) speech, which featured lots of history, details and memories - and some forward-looking thoughts as well. The event also featured other interesting guests, such as the theatre director and writer Jotaarkka Pennanen, who was one of the very first Amiga owners in Finland. He continued utilizing Amigas both personally and professionally all the way up to the Amiga 4000.

Amigaworld.net News   indieGO!- Bonusprogram for Developers
Amigaworld.net News posted by phoenixkonsole on 15-Nov-2014 16:25:45 (5947 reads)
Next month we will open the store in terms of "being able to purchase something". For now people can only download freeware or commercial stuff if they have a "voucher-code".

The developer bonus program checks each month for the month's top10 Developers (by downloads) and each of them will get 1/10th of the bonus sum. The amount of the bonus sum will differ month to month based on the financial surplus. As a start, I've thrown in 100€ which equals to 10000amicoins (indiecoins are the same).

Amigaworld.net News   New software releases by OnyxSoft
  Amigaworld.net News posted by Deniil715 on 14-Nov-2014 17:51:42 (2805 reads)
OnyxSoft releases a few updates to MPlayer-GUI, CodeAudio and BackUp.

MPlayer-GUI v1.53 - (OS4) GUI for MPlayer for OS4.

- Added a chooser for dvd/dvdnav since newer MPlayers work better with dvd instead of dvdnav.
- Added the new comp_yuv and comp_yuv2 video outputs for the new RadeonHD v2-enabled mplayer.
- Added webm file type and reordered the file pattern list.
- Reinserted the old cgx_vmem in case someone has a machine where this works best.
- Moved the "Show MPlayer output" setting to the main page for easier access.
- Added "# = Switch language" to the key help page.

Miscellaneous News   #amiga guide magazine still active! Status update!
Miscellaneous News posted by alef on 8-Nov-2014 2:41:02 (3201 reads)
The sister Amiga magazines "#amiga guide magazine" (English) and "Amigaguiden" (Norwegian) are still active!

The magazines have all the way been produced using DTP programs Professional Page (for the early Amigaguiden issues) and PageStream for AmigaOS. We have been doing this since 1992.

Our Norwegian Amiga Association (NAF - Norsk amigaforening) has been in activity and service for the Amiga for 22 years and counting.
