| Software News posted by ChrisH on 8-Feb-2013 9:59:13 (3590 reads) |
eGame now fully lives-up to it's description as a "Game Launcher", because it's now possible to add disk images & 'foreign' executables, and have them automatically loaded by the appropriate emulator (e.g. Hatari, DOSBox, VICE, E-UAE) or game system (e.g. Frotz).

AmiDARK Engine Rel 0.8 for AmigaOS4 |
| software OS4 posted by AmiDARK on 7-Feb-2013 21:28:12 (3371 reads) |
Hello,
Here is the update 0.8 for the 2D version of the AmiDARK Engine. As usual, it contains the 3D engine in its actual development state.
This update is a major update for two reasons. The first of all is that it contains many bug fixes and improvement in the main engine and, secondly because it's the start of the development of the "plug-in system" that will be integrated in the AmiDARK Engine to support futures Add-ons to the main engine.

Airsoft Softwair has just released a new plugin for Hollywood 5 - Infinity. This plugin enables all Hollywood scripts to load and SAVE animations in the APNG format (animated portable network graphics). The great advantage of the APNG format is that it allows you to import and create animations that use alpha channel transparency. Neither the IFF ANIM nor the GIF ANIM formats support alpha channel transparency. Furthermore, APNG can also handle true colour frame data. A rival format to APNG is the MNG format but APNG support was chosen because more applications support it.
You can download the plugin from the official Hollywood portal. Thanks to Hollywood 5's cross-platform plugin system versions for AmigaOS3 (Classic), AmigaOS3 (FPU), AmigaOS4, MorphOS, WarpOS, AROS (Intel), Linux (PowerPC), Linux (Intel), Mac OS (PowerPC), Mac OS (Intel), Windows and Google Android are provided.
