| Two new plugins for Hollywood 5.0 have been released today: The Ogg Vorbis plugin allows you to play sound files in Ogg Vorbis encoding with Hollywood and the Ogg Theora plugin allows you to play video files encoded with the Ogg Theora codec with Hollywood. The Vorbis and Theora formats are especially useful because they are (most likely) not affected by software patents and so you (most likely) do not have to pay any licensing fees if you use them commercially.

Things are shaping up nicely for the 8th annual Commodore Vegas Expo to be held on July 28-29 at the Las Vegas Club Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. As in past years, we'll have Commodore and Amiga exhibits, presentations, and raffle and door prizes. New hardware for your Commodores is planned to be released/re-released at CommVEx. On that same weekend, Def Con 20 and RollerCon 2012 will be in town for those who have an interest in more activities in addition to CommVEx.

New Stuff , New Fun. Part 1. |
| software OS4 posted by kas1e on 3-Mar-2012 18:39:59 (4310 reads) |
To avoid spamming of forums with different topics/news-items about any single piece of port, I came up with the idea that it is better to collect stuff and release it in one push (and to bring more fun, and to raise some tasty dollars).
So, there is nothing to say more, I just will show what I prepare for today and provide links to where you can download all of these (I will upload all of them to os4depot soon as well).
The idea in the end is to do these kind of "pushes" in some time frame (say 1 every 2-4 weeks), but that will depend on the users' interest of course (and those tasty donations).

CodeWar 1.24 ported to AmigaOS and MorphOS |
| Software News posted by Minuous on 2-Mar-2012 8:31:41 (2692 reads) |
Amigan Software are proud to announce that the CodeWar simulator, a game for programmers, has been ported to AmigaOS 3.9 and MorphOS. An AmigaOS 4 version is imminent.
CodeWar is essentially a simulation engine which allows multiple processes to execute simultaneously within the same virtual environment. This in turn provides programmers with the facilities to compete against one another by seeing who can write the program which exists the longest within this environment. Unlike other simulators such as CRobots, the competing robots are real native programs and may thus be written in any language.
