Hardware News   ACK Software Controls IRC Log
Hardware News posted by ssolie on 18-May-2006 21:16:56 (25128 reads)
Below is my personal attempt to cleanup an IRC log between ackcontrols (ACK Software Controls Inc.) and some info. starved users. It was a spontaneous kind of thing. I did my best to match the questions to the answers which is why the time stamps differ here and there. Any errors are entirely your fault.

Internet News   Game Innovation Database
Internet News posted by TrebleSix on 18-May-2006 15:10:43 (3310 reads)
The goal of the GIDb is to classify and record every innovation in the entire history of computer and videogames. Because we could never complete this daunting task alone, we have made the GIDb an open wiki, allowing anyone to easily add innovation entries for the benefit of everyone who cares about the history, study, and practice of game innovation.

A great chance to show the world the quality of Amiga games, and I know a number of you have a lot of games, like Toaks for example!

The website that aims to record the history of videogame innovation is calling on games fanatics for help.
The online encyclopaedia is similar to Wikipedia and allows users to browse and edit the site's content.

Software News   Arnold on Amiga
Software News posted by drHirudo on 17-May-2006 19:12:51 (2611 reads)
The Amstrad CPC emulator Arnold has been ported to AmigaOS 4. Click here for a screenshot of here to download it.

Features:

Arnold is very accurate and there is a small number of programs (mainly demos) that do not display correctly (especially those which use "horizontal splitting" technique). Arnold should run 99% of all programs and will run these as they would on a real CPC.

Software News   BarsnPipes 1.25b with fixed GUI
Software News posted by alfa on 12-May-2006 21:07:59 (2956 reads)
! This for the classic AMIGA-OS !

Because the "Skinability"-feature of BarsnPipes New was only used very rare in the past, I've decided, to make a additional version, which has all (460) GUI-pictures of my 64-color-GUI fix integrated. External pics-loading is not neccessary. This reduces the loading time dramaticaly, especially on slower AMIGAs. It depends now mainly on the number of installed tools and/or accessories.
