Recording industry sues students for creating Napster-like network |

The recording industry today filed copyright infringement lawsuits against four college students, accusing them of setting up Napster-like file-swapping services on their campus networks.
The civil suits charge that students illicitly offered tens of thousands -- and in one case, a million songs -- without permission from the labels or artists, then, publicly bragged about their theft.

Last week's beta of AMP2 had a severe sync-bug in the Paula code and problem with the AHI buffers. AMP2-BETA-030331 should fix these problems. AmiDog's Movie Player supports MPEG1/2, MP2/MP3 Audiostreams, AC3 Streams, (S)VCD, CD-i and DVD.

| The AROS - Amiga Research OS website has been completely redesigned and moved to SourceForge. AROS is a portable open sourced desktop operating system, while aiming at reimplementing AmigaOS 3.1 APIs. Four new screenshots have been uploaded. Update: Fabio Alemagna has written a status update detailing the progress made these last few months.

| An audio file of Alan Redhouse's speech held last Saturday at the AmiGBG fair in Gothenburg, is now available. Soon video files are expected to become available as well. Update: Some show photos and a transcript by Peter Gordon are now available as well. Update2: Now there are movies in .rm format on the site.
