There is nothing on Amigakit's X1000 page that would indicate that a free 4.2 license is included in the price

@netrot

show me where on the X1000 page there is a mention of a free OS 4.2 download...

There is one on the Nemo motherboard, but not on the full X1000 system. Vox bought a full X1000 that is not a First Contact system therefore I would guess that a free 4.2 upgrade is not included, unless you can show me otherwise

@netrot

"download upgrade to 4.2 when available"

there is no mention of "free of charge" or "4.2. license included". On legal issues you must be precise. If it is included it has to be somewhere in the documents (f.e. receipt) that X1000 buyers get. Not included, not existing in legal sense. The only time it was officially mentioned was "first contact".

@netrot

Than why is there no mention of the free upgrade on the X1000 page, when there was on the First Contact editions?

I am self-deployed and had personal experience over time with legal issues. You must be careful what is written and what you just expect. Vox thinks he has the legal rights to get certain things including 4.2. (and that soon) and I think he mixes real legal issues and his expectations. I had assumed that too but in a legal sense he should find it (at least 4.2. license) in his documents, if not he can only hope that "promises" are held.

I read that there was a third batch of "first contact" and "first contact" was promised with 4.2. license (from first announcement). So the buyers should have got a 4.2. license key (if I understand it right). Or are there 2 types of "first contact"? Little confused...

@netrot

of course but people have a tendency to minimize legal risks with contracts

and if many of X1000 owners would have to pay for 4.2. update some would moan and all would pay

@Boot_WB

I have not seen announcement about servergy P-Cuped CPU, but (when looking at details) it could not be other than P102*.

(perhaps alse they made mistake with the core compatibility. I hope we see "T-Cuped" instead, to my understanding T1 series chips should now be available for prototyping (if not delayed).

@Darrin

To make something big, you need somthing to have, to make it big..

Problem with OS4 is lack of money and developers... You can't make OS with 5 to 10 developer's on time, and demands of costumers ....killer app's

Friedens have no power to do that alone

Hyperion's role is to try make it, not to put SSolie on show. Head of the company have to say. Yes I am in charge and position to say that this project is canceled, that is delayed,.. next thing is that....
Opsite to OS4 presentation and development policy from Hyperion, AmigaOne team and A- Eon (Trevor) have other course.. there is planty of updates of development on blog or site, info about good and also about bad news...

I make my contribution to Amiga community (not exclusivly to OS4) don't wory about that, but I am not a programer.
Don't read thread if you are tired.

@RobertB

It's not exciting at all..boring ...sad ...
Second major presentation of show, second year in row is last on net... that's the fact, like the fact is that the OS4 presentation have little news and one cancelation..
On other side we all know news about OS4... so do it (upload) when you can to do.

Lucky thing is that you always hit button to record.

OS4.2 will be released when Gallium3D is ready.
On Amigans.net one of Frieden brothers said that Gallium3D porting is very difficult to port becuse they don't have manuals and documentation for Evergreen HD Radeon.
So for now, what is the status of Gallium3D?

Gallum3D is able to show some 3D hardware rendering or only software rendering?

It is mentioned, also as download, in the X1000 manuals,
but no other explicit obligation. In fact Quickstart guide
(which I haven`t yet get as paper copy, had to print it myself)
sais
Quote:
"Your First contact AmigaOne x1000 system is supplied with AmigaOS 4.1 Update 5 and license for Amiga OS 4.2 which can be downloaded from Hyperion Entertaiment website when its realised"

But in reality there is no license number, other paper proving this
or AmigaOS 4.2 on list of purchased items.

I also petitioned AmigaKit while buying to make few details
clearer (e.g. RadeonHD driver is just copied, no CD version,
we include Quickstart guide and backplate ...) but they never
updated it, as well as my country list (which still sais Yugoslavia,
if they would ship to it, it could cause probs.

All true, and that will be point of no end user support if we go to court.
You gave me beta OS telling me I will get real thing. Beta isn`t supporting
the hardware yet = unfinished system, while you gave me no guarantee
of finalized product or timeline. Not even crumbs meanwhile, you kind
of said "We are moving to X2000 - don`t touch our priorities".
