"8640" That is the best bet so far as the CPU. |
That's what I'd hope for, but look at a picture of it We only get to see a tiny bit of the corner in the covered up A-eon pic, but I don't think it's a match here. :( 8641 looks the same as 8640. QorIQ pics google gives back also do not seem to match.
I myself would find everything else I've guessed about so far matched with an 8610 to be perfect. 8640 nearly as perfect. Other CPUs, I'll have to ponder when we know what it is._________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad! |

The surface resistors look IDENTICAL !!!!! |
I was actually kindof hoping to see newer replecements for my guess, but the resistors are different on what I can find of them, so what I linked to is my guess. Not a bad chip, I'd just have loved its successor even more. :)
@ddi Yes, ATI SB600 southbridge. I think a SB710 would be even cooler, but I know I can't buy them myself, while I can buy SB600 chips. Probably an availability over version thing. SB710 is buyable, but not as conveniently as SB600 is due to minimum units required where I have found it.

The top right corner is definitely a Mini PCI port |
I've been thinking it's a CompactFlash socket.
I don't actually know what the white slot is in this pic but it's similar to the white one we're interested in, and different than the one labelled as mini-PCI |
Yup, not MiniPCI , too narrow. If it is the same as the one on the eBox2300, it's a just Type I/II Compact Flash socket. Kinda makes sense, seeing as it'll be facing the front of the case (why would you want a MiniPCI facing the front?)
OK, one thing I have noticed on that picture.. where the chuff is the flash for the bootrom ? Is it under the "Not yet ?"Last edited by Doobrey on 03-Jan-2010 at 07:52 PM.

It if is the same then it is a compact flash socket, see http://www.embeddedpc.net/eBox2300/tabid/110/Default.aspx

| Enigma and the minislot could point to Dreambox3, but IIRC, it was said that it's not a set top box or DTV box.
and where's the picture of the case? anywhere? Last edited by KimmoK on 03-Jan-2010 at 07:53 PM.

so now we know also: - If you are referring to the Xilinks chip, I *think* (not sure, I am no hardware specialist) it drives the Legacy PCI slots. - a CF adaptor. -Xena is no video chip. Someone suggested that but that was a wrong guess. _________________ - KimmoK // For freedom, for honor, for AMIGA // // Thing that I should find more time for: CC64 - 64bit Community Computer? |

Is Xorro a proprietary slot?
If it isn't Zorro... what would the point be? Its already got pci slots....
Crossfire could have been interesting, it'd explain the Chip and the PCI slots, but like Derfs said, good luck on the drivers (not to mention apps that'd take advantage of it)

We can see a number of small black chips. One to the left of the battery holder at the opposite end of that long header. A few between the CPU and the rear pannel audio and USB connectors, something between the x16 slots. The smaller ones near the whote "ComactFlash" socket are probably level shifters or drivers of some kind. Those to the left of the CPU as well as above it near the ATX connector are likely all power things. Flash chips can be small and don't need to be in a socket like the Eyetech boards.
My guess is the one near the battery and long header/SATA connectors. But I also don't find the FLASH chip very exciting. :p_________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad! |

As 'xena' means 'stranger, foreigner' could it be a chip that provides support for a foreign system, say, legacy Amiga? |

Maybe to differentiate from main stream and do it the Amiga way
Regarding X and xena - my guess is some sort of "Cell" type co-processor
Just guessing |

If my guess of the other chip being an ATI SB600, it has a PCI bus "output" amongst it's many features. The A-link II connection to AMD's northbridge is said to just be PCI-Express, and they have a bridge between that and PCI in the chip.
