Thanks to zzd10h another version of Updater v53.44 has been completed and is now going through beta testing. It will be available in the next few weeks for public use (free download to Enhancer Software users).

thanks for that update. I notice that there appears to be A1222eth.device to download, so i take it there is progress on the A1222 front and we may be closer to a release?

on a separate note, when is the update to Radeon HD driver 3.3 due to be available via Updater?

Next month i will be moving to a new home, and i will get the space needed for my Amiga hobby..i haven't bought Enhancer Software package yet, but i see progress in the area that matters for me, and really looking forward play with it

I have to say i respect the Amiga community (companies and users) that shows the love and enthusiasm they doing to keep amiga alive. It's incredible you manage keep going on, no matter what issues or bad shit some negative a.w members says, it's almost as you have "ignor shield on" and keep working, keep pushing.. do what you love.

With all work that is done, and the progress & signals you sending out, i think the Amiga has still a nice future. To all those positive Amiga enthusiasts that still is out there. you have my deepest respect and eternal gratitude that we still is here!

Can I make a suggestion? Or two. On startup there is a delay before the window opens. I wonder if it has loaded. I notice there is some message in the corner. But I would prefer to see a window so I know something is going on. With the window telling me it is checking. Seems a bit strange the other way.

Also. I find Updater keeps asking me if I want to update some file and where. Yes I do and the answer is where it was installed. Then it copies the file over but opens the directory where it is stored. This is I find to be an annoying behaviour. I would prefer it just update the files in place without bugging me about it. I didn't notce any option to tell it this.

Go into Updater - Settings window (Amiga+B) and untick the box Show file after download and then click Save

Thanks for the tip but I've ran into problems. I found the Updater you are referring to is newer than what I have. So I set out to update it. But I got the old "APPDIR" bug again. I must note that I have had a problem with this APPDIR before and read the history on here. I don't know where Updater gets this APPDIR from but I could not see it in my setting files. What I can tell you is the bug is still there and it isn't because of a missing APPDIR: on system, it is because the APPDIR designation is missing a colon, it is looking for an "APPDIR". So in effect trying to open a file.

The Updater archive did download so I set out to update it manually. I tried open the Installer icon but it failed with an error about being uable to open script icon. So I ran it from the location instead. It loaded up. I tried to update Sound as a test. It downloaded and then froze my X1000. I was unable to collect any crash log yet.

Thinking also it would be good to have a silent update mode like AmiUpdate that installs without user intervention.

The APPDIR bug was solved a few revisions ago. Simply copy the new Updater 53.48 main executable to your System:Updater location and replace the old executable. You should be good to go then. Thanks

Okay I managed to install it. But I tried again to update the Updater and got it working with expert installer mode. If it made any difference.

The Settings GUI needs a slight clean up. With gadgets on the right they are looking a bit messy. Should be fine in right justified.

I also notice the new Radeon and W3DN components showing up. And it selects them for installation. But then gives an error about then not being activated on my account. It was teasing me.

Found a glitch with Updater, selected all updates. The list of updates was so long the ASL requester to confirm was more than the height of the screen and there were no buttons to click. I couldn't get past this point and ended up doing a soft reboot.

Next time round I didn't select 'all' and the list was long but the requester was complete with the usual buttons.

Tried to check how things works with latest updater (53.50), and found few issues:

1. if i didn't have ClipViewer and TimeGuard istalled, then updater show that server has ClipViewer 1.10 and TimerGuard 53.1. Once i choice them, and try to download, then i have window from updater with words "ClipViewer is missing on server" , "TimeGuard is missing on server".

2. If i choice any component, and choice "information" ,then i have Updater information window, with button "Changelog" and everthing inside of that "Changelog" area is empty : for all components i tryied to check. Is it bug, or something on my side ?
