Hi All, Pretty sure this has been discussed, so anyone who can point me to the answer would be much appreciated.
I am having the same old problem with this new version of iBrowse, SSL conflict. So if there is a fix, please let me know.
Thanks for your feedback,
Brad Hansen

@Punkyclown

Last week I tried to install it on my A4000 and had trouble with the archive. I kept getting some error about this file "." not existing. Rather strange a file in an archive not existing. How does it know it's there? Or not.

I went from Unarc to a newer LhA and got the same error. I finally gave up. I'll just test it in my A1 where it won't be dog slow anyway.

I am a bit suspicious about a "dot" file as that's a PC thing. Makes me wonder if it was packed on a PC. Given more likely than not it was compiled on PC makes it more likely it was packed on a PC.

@Punkyclown

Please elaborate on this "conflict". Probably I have fixed it for the upcoming AmiSSL 4.4, but want to make sure you are not referring to something else.

@Hypex

Are you referring to the IBrowse or AmiSSL archive? IBrowse is built and archived on OS4. AmiSSL on Linux. There should be no problems unpacking AmiSSL using the latest LhA command (I think I use http://aminet.net/util/arc/LHA22.lha on OS3 and http://os4depot.net/?function=showfile&file=utility/archive/lha.lha on OS4). I think some older tools cannot handle the -lhd- directory entries properly, which the Linux LhA adds.

Yes I have run into it. It relates to the platform the AmiSSL files were compressed on, and unarc cannot read the files right. The solution is to just use the CLI version of lha to decompress it - just grab the one from Aminet if you don't have it. Then just LHA x and is decompresses just fine

@Futaura

Just with AmiSSL. Thanks for the links. I think I used the one below but it's stuck on my A4000 and I can't check it for now.
http://aminet.net/package/util/arc/lha_68k.lha

I used my UAE setup. Unarc failed on AmiSSL. lha_68040 from above worked fine. But the other lha 2.2 crashed. Which is strange as it emulates a 68020. That looks backwards.

@Hypex

Yes, that is the link I should have posted That is the one that I'm using too.

I can see the UnArc error here on my OS3 install and I dropping the LhA header level from 2 to 1 when compressing avoids it. Nothing to do with the -lhd- directory entries after all.

So, when AmiSSL 4.4 comes, please revert to your usual unpacker and hopefully it will work.

The problem is in the xad subsystem, not really Unarc.

Fantastic, Thanks for the links.

Now I just have to wait for my X5000 to arrive.

Nice :)

Maybe there is an update to Ibrowse around the corner too?
