On Launching I get an error message, I can't sort out.

Temporarily move your mpeg audio descriptor and datatype to a safe place, reboot, and try again.
If this turns out to be your problem, try the repaired descriptor on OS4depot.

In that directory are all the png files for the GUI, and they are also png files, some larger and some smaller, and they display correctly.

Regardless of what you see, please try what I suggested.
Remove the mpeg audio descriptor from SYS:devs/datatypes and reboot.
This will help isolate your problem.

Hmm, tried that and it opens correctly.
I'll try the descriptor from OS4Depot now.

You're welcome. Same problem can supposedly cause DSI's in some cases.
Original reason stated was a faulty mpeg audio descriptor, but...
Later research proved the bug in libmad (mpega.library) that was described years ago and sometimes denied.
Author has been contacted, but that was 9 months ago.
Until then, imo, the "new" descriptor is a workaround for an issue that needs to be solved in the library itself.
(this according to YAM dev team)
