Hey All! Amiga Island Bulletin Board System is back On-Line!

Its now running on an AmigaOne XE 800 OS4.1
Running Cnet BBS V5.10b (C)2005-2007 Storm Edge Technologies (Read more)

Seems I had some problems getting the System back Online. Turn out to be a problem with my Router... Fixed that . Got a new 1! :)

Anyways sorry for the LONG Delay. I was trying to get it setup on another Amithlon System which I had running for Years. Seems the hardware I ordered didn't work out.. So I decided to Transfer the BBS over to my AmigaOne.

Seems to be running OK
Remember the good old days?

I totally disagree... only the LAME boards asked for personal details and lot of stupid questions... The cool and fancy 1/2/3 warez boards only asked username + password... And asked do you know what FLT or MLN or SKID .... meant. If ya didn't ya didn't get any rights.

The rest of your status was based on your uploading behaviour...

AmiXPress rules... please shut down this board, it's nonsense!

CNet stopped working correctly with the release of the broken JIT in OS4 "Final":
More info in the thread containing this usenet post

One long-time OS4 user recommends installing a pre-Final version of OS4 on another partition and just boot into that when you want to run CNet.

I can't believe there's still people out there that didn't know about this, but I guess everyone considers problems in OS4 to be a "rumour" until it affects them personally.

@syperhawk: please try "blacklisting" cnet.library in Compatibility prefs. If that makes CNet to work for you, then it may be an JIT issue.

Is this crash always reproducible?

@jorkany

Of course OS 4 is not perfect. But I don't understand what do you mean by your "I can't believe there is still people"?

Do you mean that everyone knows CNet BBS doesn't run under OS4.1? This is first time I hear about this particular issue and actually I didn't even know that some people still use BBS. Live and learn...

When there are issues, then try to actually report them to relevant people. Or should Almos spend his time reading Usenet and Moobunny for "bug reports"?
