Software News   Software News : WarpView 1.0 Released
   posted by COBRA on 3-Jan-2009 20:51:11 (5629 reads)
After more than 6 months of hard work, WarpView 1.0 is finally available!

Changes in this version (v1.0): (Read more...)

- Complete rework and restructure of the program to allow key new features

- Implemented Software Draw Mode as an alternative to Warp3D mode for those
with low video memory. Software Mode is now default, because it allows for
faster image loading with high resolution images (no need to transfer whole
image to video memory via PCI/AGP bus).

- Draw Mode (Software/Warp3D) can be toggled either via ToolType/Command line
options, or in the Settings menu.

- Now using internal libjpeg for faster loading of JPEG images

- Added support for saving images in JPEG and PNG formats

- Added Scale/Resize option with super-fast Nearest/Bilinear/Bicubic resample
and an extremely good quality, highly optimized Lanczos algorithm.

- Added Crop option with both graphical (mouse-driven) and numeric input
possibilities, aspect ratio presets, aspect lock and auto-scroll capability

- Added Undo/Redo functionality

- Added automatic zoom to fit to screen when rotating

- Added an Exif 2.2 compliant Exif parser to read Exif data, with support for
reading Canon-specific Marker Notes

- Some Exif data is displayed on the InfoLine when available

- Added Image Information window to show additional Exif Data

- Alphabetical sorting improved to ignore upper/lower case

- Many small changes, bugfixes, improvements and optimisations

- A nice PDF Manual

- WarpView is now released as ShareWare

What is Warp View?

Actually I know the answer to that, but can we please have a short description of what these programs are on the title page.

Nice job on the update!

The save, crop, and resize features are even enough to get me to want to register it but I had trouble with the registration site using Amiga Browsers.

I'll register later when I"m using Windows.

If it only had the ability to open in a window on any screen I could totally replace good old MysticView. I use it for view standalone images from Web pages and having them come up in a window on the browser screen if handy.

Ys, I think the same. I like cybershow for the window opened on the screen and the options to set how the picture is showed with a window like the % scaling (auto-50%- 100%,... )

Thanks for this new version.

Spoke to soon. I was just able to register with the newly released 3.2 version of OWB.

Now waiting for my key.

Nice update.

Cheers.

@all

There seems to be something funny with Reg.Net. As I indicated on the WarpView website, they have put up some incorrect info about registration. I E-Mailed them several days ago, but have not received an answer yet, but I presumed that registration should work regardless, as it worked instantly with DvPlayer when I put it up. But so far I have received no notification from them that anyone has registered and the fact that several people here say they have is a bit worrying. If you have registered, please contact me via E-Mail (not PM) to help me sort this out, and don't worry, nobody is going to lose their money

That sounds logical to me. EU members are not exempted from VAT, are they?

@COBRA

I've been using WarpView 0.8 beta for quite a while now. Very nice program.

Downloading the new version to try it out.

The programs works but I was interrested in a smooth slideshow. No matter what wipes I use, the image shrinks to a thumbnail in between pictures. The fade of the thumbnail is smooth but fade of the screensize picture flickers badly at all but the highest speed settings. The shrink to a thumbnail ruins every type of wipe. Is the slideshow just disabled like this for the demo version??

The update looks very cool and I look forward to trying it out and hopefully registering just as soon as my sam440 arrives and I can start really enjoying OS4.1.

One of the big things I am expecting from my silent small form factor new Amiga is being able to enjoy viewing all by digital photo's with out the background noise made my high power PC.

@Xenic

What thumbnail are you talking about? I can't see any thumbnails here in either Software or Warp3D Mode, with any wipe. What is your system configuration?

I have registered to WarpView v1.0 yesterday but I don't get my keyfile yet. I asked because of RegNet behaviour under IBrowse...

@murakami

It seems to me as if Reg.Net services are temporarily down or something. I have not had any problems with them previously, but if they don't fix it real soon, like in a couple of days, I'll seriously consider dropping them and switching to another service. In the meantime, to get your keyfile as soon as possible, please E-Mail me privately.

I think I know what Xenic means, on my system G3SE/OS4.0, it's displaying the .info files between the jpgs and also thumbnails where I've converted images to icons.

Richard.

P.S. It's very smooth, I'll register in a few days,when Regnet is sorted out.

Ahh, thanks, I haven't come across that as I never had any thumbnail .info files generated for my image collections. I suppose I'll fix this by filtering out loading of .info files altogether.
