| I think that ibrowse needs a serious facelift. It looks like a 1.3 app. |

| I think you need fix your XP install - I have no problems here, although my processor is a 2.2 GHz Athlon (yeah, too much time waiting and Vice City made me cave in). Try running Ad-Aware from lavasoft to remove spyware and stuff like that.
I'm surprised with how much better than older versions of Windows XP is. It isn't brilliant, but it looks okay, and the performance is acceptable given the cheap, fast PC hardware available. It also runs Vice City :D |

| XP runs like a pig for me too on a 2Ghz CPU. I do advise scanning your machine for spyware like someone suggested though, spyware makes it even slooower. And elimination of Spyware is a good thing. _________________ Sent from my Quantum Computer.

| About antialiased fonts: great idea! are there any plans for LCD-optimized antialiased fonts (the old Apple2 trick that Microsoft calls ClearType)? |

There are certain factors, such as the layout and spacing, which must be left until the very final stages. Included with this are the screen backdrop and window textures, which wont be finalised until we have tested a larger number of different displays and user preferences. |
Whatever you do, don't use the grey texture as backdrop for windows, the top menu bar and the docks. Don't use it at all. It looks ugly, very old (it has that ugly magic wb look all over again which i hoped we would get rid of), basically it looks bad. |

| I kinda like the fact that it's "only 80% done" right now (for example Mason's said he can't see any of his new stuff on the screenshots). Gives me something cool to look forward to for the next few saturdays |

| How come O/S develpers are so obsessed with the colour grey? Is life really that dull for them? I sure hope this OS can be themed. Overall its fairly pretty, but a better/high colour scheme would be a real boon.
Anyway, good work.

| Hi!
I see that you're new here (1 post), welcome to AWN!
Hyperion has stated a few times that the GUI is going to be very configurable (look at the screenshots, at least one has the GUI prefs app and another the MUI prefs app), so the "grey and blue" look is just the "out of the box" look. This so that OS4 will look familiar to current AmigaOS users, as well as people who left the amiga at the time of OS2 and OS3.1 (somewhere in the mid-1990s) and are just finding out about recent developments.
In terms of configurability, Hyperion has essentially built MagicMenu and Birdie into Intuition (not the actual programs, but their functionality was designed into Intuition 4), and added a few other things, like the ability to resize a window on any border and to have windows "dangling off" the edge of the screen (I believe both of these can be turned off). Those were my top two pet peeves on AmigaOS 3.1, and I'm glad they are fixed |

| Anyone else noticed the skin-coloured "hand" pointer on show in picture 3? Just an example, or a new mouse pointer? Ah, I like these kinds of threads. . SlimJim |

One word... Privacy.
Now for a thought... When you buy Windows XP, you're not really buying it. You're renting it.
I'm not going to explain. If you can't figure it out, then you deserve XP and all that comes with it. |

| IBrowse is MUI application so you can configure it as you wish :) But I have to aggree that eg. Voyager's GUI looks more modern than Ibrowse GUI. |

Hi, Matthew. Firstly I want to tell that I think you and all the graph team are making a great work.
Now, can I ask you (or someone other that can answer ) something... ?
- In the final layout the gadgets (like the arrows and the others that now are aliased) also will be anti-aliased ?
- In depht what work are you doing exactly for os4 ? (if you can answer, of course)
- There will be an improvement also for the icons ? (all will be anti-aliased... and the icons ?)
Thanks for revamping my favourite OS...

hmmm quite right but if the amiga was much used as the pc i can assure you it would be in the same situation yes goto a HP where you can get music/programs or games you many times get a secret gift with it either a trojan bacdoor or just a little hidden progam there not even ask to get there you even get them in your html cookies but the case would be same if the amiga was more used thats for sure thats the thing being online so "Mountain_Myst" being online is a risk when so many ppl are "Togther" some isnt here for just surf the inet or chat and the fact is microsoft yes they can even see where you been but hmmmm isnt that just being alittle paraniod how many have windows and are using it so if microsoft should look on every computer connected to the inet they wouldnt have anything else to do and its not a good thing but if take the time to look on net you can find sites telling how to remove it but the fact is when YOU connect to the inet no one is safe thats a risk for the renting part hmmm im renting my apartment as well is that bad ?? is can use my "apartment" as long i like .... and yes there is things in windows XP i hate the same as in the other windows you dont know what there is running not even with an clean installation and when you remove a program its not removed completely some of the dll`s and other stuff stays and they infiltrate the system so if you remove one the risk is when you boot windows up next time it comes with an error ... so no im not a windows fan i just dont like ppl says i dont like something without having the "knowledge" about the system if they screw it up its really not the systems fault if you know how many times at work i been out to a custumer repairing his/her windows telling me how crap windows are and its them there have messed it up thats why it hit me when ppl just come and say XP sucks ...... |
