o get to the download on the Hyperion site, you need to log in and have a copy of OS4.1 associated (ie registered) with your account. Simply having a password protected ftp would be more open to abuse. |
Not really, they have the email addresses of all 4.1 registered users, we supply it when we register.
So make the FTP, email the registered users mailing list the password, prob solved? |

| @danwood A single password is prone to abuse (someone could leak it). But they could easily create an FTP site that used the username/password set (for Hyperions site). Then if someone wants to leake the user/password, they will know. _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue...

| Meh none of us would leak it. I could just as easily upload it/torrent it if I wanted to pirate it.
The only ones who have bought it did so because we support the Amiga. |

| As of right now, the website issues should be resolved. I apologize for the length, it was a difficult to track bug but it seems that it's finally squashed. It might be reacting a bit slow still, but that is due to the amount of people downloading.
Again, apologies that it took so long. _________________ Seriously, if you want to contact me do not bother sending me a PM here. Write me a mail

| Been a while away from especially MakeCD. Burned the .lha to a cd but it's just the exact copy, nearly 160 Mb- How did You do it again so it unpacks the update?
Thanks. |

| @PR You have to first unpack it and then burn the image as a cd. The lha file is just a compressed file with the .iso image inside. I dont know enough about makecd or burning on amigaos to help you further though. |

| Thanks, that's what I tried but my XE seems to lack the power to do so.. Must leave it over night if it is so slow.
Edit: Unarc says Filetype unkown. The default tool was multiview somehow. Maybe an error in downloading then. I'll try again.
Edit 2:
Ok, at the other thread it says that dowloading with Ibrowse gives some extra junk at the front. Now trying with OWB.
It's so hard sometimes. Last edited by PR on 15-Jan-2010 at 10:01 PM. Last edited by PR on 15-Jan-2010 at 09:54 PM. Last edited by PR on 15-Jan-2010 at 09:24 PM.

once you unpack the lha to iso then you can use AmiDVD to burn the ISO to a blank CD... _________________ ____________________________ c64-2sids, A1000, A1200T-060@50(finally working!),A4000-CSMKIII ! My Master Miggies- Amiga 1000 & AmigaOne X1000 ! mancave-ramblings X1000 I BELIEVE
