Thank god you gave them this advice! Otherwise they might have overpriced their product by accident. Since they made it clear that they have the intentions of keeping the manufacturing costs and end-user price down as much as possible, it would have been really embarrasing for them to overprice their product by mistake. However, now that you have given them this kind and very insightful advice, there really is no need to worry about that anymore. Thank you.

@vision

The new Troja has better ATA controller and USB controller then my AmigaOne-XE, how ever it don't have the CPU speed, so unless they do some thing about that I'm not buying it.

For some one that don't have a AmigaOne already I think it's an excelent buy (or better then the Micro-AmigaOne-C), fast ATA controller, better north chipsett, USB and flash memory ultra fast OS loading

@Wed

That is not an appropriate discussion under the current topic.

It's also a secret

Come one people these specs can't possibly be considered final. Trokia havn't produced the first board yet. There surely is still a lot of wait and see what developments happen before price and final spec or CPU speed can be determined.

@pteppic

I virtually BEG to disagree. If they've already confirmed that the prototype is working then it CAN be considered final specs. The next thing after a successful proto run is a small-scale production run, and MANY weeks before that you need to have purchased the components.

Lead time on IBM CPUs are likely to be 8-12 weeks. There's only 14 or so weeks left of 2005.

Let's hope they can't get any FX CPUs and have to get GX ones instead

Other than that, it sounds like a great little board!

Well maybe I'm underestimating how far their development has gone. I got the impression they have not built a single part of the prototype and are only working from design so far. I had the impression from the site they were waiting for parts to make one single board in time for BB3. I doubt we will see a finished product during 2005 if that is the case.

If they are ready to start a production run thats great.

About the AGP-slot, in the comparision against the Eye-tech Amiga One motherboards they write:

"AGP: N/A other cards under development ( riser card etc) ".

That might implay that there might be a possibility that someone in the future develops a riser card that with an AGP-slot?

Only speculative though, and I don't really care since I don't have enough money (or spare time) to buy a new computer to play with.

Uhh, plug in a USB hub and be happy? Buy a USB keyboard that has a built-in hub and only use one slot?

*shrug* not a big deal..

What kind of PPC-hardware is Trolka making?

At first, I honestly couldn't believe this. But I looked through the big Troika threads inthe forums, and there were no comments in any of them from Helgis, so it seems that indeed, somehow he must not know what's up already. Wow. I think the web links in the article here should be hard to miss, but he must have flailed wildly on the reply button in all his excitement before getting to that part of the article.

I work in a computer store, and it's not hard at all to find PCI cards, infact, it's been easier now then afew years ago when AGP was supposed to be the "Be all & end all" of graphics capable slots...

Also, PCI gfx cards won't disapear in the coming 5 years atleast, too many machines still rely on them.

If your local computer store tells you they can't get PCI gfx cards, then they're eighter incompetent or trying to sell you a new machine

@Olegil

Technicly it might be easy, but how will you squize it into an ITX case?
