| Tried this out and it's quite fun to be able to rotate the image (not sure how "useful" that is though )
It is useful to be able to scale in and out in real time, to look at some fine detail perhaps.
However when I've got an image displayed if I skip back to workbench everything crawls even though I'm not activly scaling or rotating the image. Why is it using CPU time when not doing anything but displaying a static image? Is it "busy waiting" or continuosly re rendering? Last edited by broadblues on 23-Oct-2005 at 08:07 PM.

well spotted, it's continuously rendering (I used that for performance tests). Not necessary, so I'll probably get rid of that in the next release. |

There were recently some updates to AHI and the audio drivers, which solved such problems AFAIR. Make sure you're up to date with those.

I have installed the september update if that's what you mean.
I have never heard this kind of distorsion before, ever. It disappears as soon as I rotate the image back to 2D mode (by clicking the left mouse f.ex.). I only hear the distorsion when rotating to extreme angels or zoom in very deep.
It's nothing I can't live with (unless it will affect future 3D games!!!). _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.

| Tried the program and here after showing picture for a few seconds locks my system.
AmigaOne XE Radeon 7000 AGP GFX card and latest beta build of OS4
[Edit] Tried it again and now seems to be working fine! Last edited by sicky on 23-Oct-2005 at 10:49 PM.

it *WORKS* on Voodoo 3 (scaling, rotating, etc) and it is very fast |
If this is the case, could there be OS3.x version too in future? |

| The audio distorsion must related to AmigaAMP WarpUp renderer. I guess. The normal version of AmigaAMP doesn't have this problem.
I tried this with AmiNetRadio too (which also uses mpega.library) I got no distorsion.
It's really fast, it doesn't affect the playback at all and it's very smooth.

| Same as Sicky here, no luck for me, it locks the machine after showing the pic only 1 second: screen goes black and monitor says "No signal detected!" I have to use the tower reset button, no GR, no serial output. XE-G4 and Rad7000 here. BTW, version 0.3beta works.

I just tried it with ANR streaming and I get the same distorsion. It's hard to describe, it starts out quite subtle, then the more I zoom and the closer to a 90 degree viewing angel I get the heavier the distorsion gets, but it's still quite subtle. Is sound a bit like it's clipping but it isn't volume dependent.
My guess is that there are many many tiny gaps in the playback that get more and longer (but still just small fractions of a second) the more I zoom or turn the image. As if the 3D thing would occupy to much bandwidth on the PCI/AGP-bus using small packets.
Unfixed XE-G4, Radeon7000, Audigy.
I get no lockups or anything though.
Edit: Just tried with ProPlayer - same results.Last edited by Deniil715 on 24-Oct-2005 at 02:00 AM.

| I have unfixed A1-SE with SB Live. However there is nothing attached to the onboard IDE. I am not sure if it has anything to do with sound though.

| When you say audio distortion, what are you playing (MP3?)
If this is the case, I would say you are experiencing "slow down" like that we used to get on the Classics in games where there were too many sprites on the screen at once! Too much processor intensive activity I would guess.
