it the 'fatal error initializing gift.library' a known problem under aos4 or is there a way to make it work?

@spotup: here, on my pegasos2 and MorphOS 1.4.5, amigift 2.0 pre-release tell me "fatal error initialising gift.library " too....

I had to get ixemul installed before I chould get AmiGift to connect..

And after I installed all the mcc classes the that werent required it just got better.

Here on 68k [060 patched versions] it needs NO Ixemul !
It runs fine [has the DL sources] and with real very low cpu usage ..
Have managed to continue all old DL [but it is a shame the prg converts not the
old V1 path style in the xxx.stat files to the new V2 style .. musst doing all this
by hand (edit programm) -> path= /DHX/xxxx to path= DHX:xxxx .. and now it runnings
faster and responsiver]

AND i have read the Manual [the .readme .. the guide is imho from the old V1 version]

Under the menu point "registry" it pointes out :

I have no problem to pay only 6.- EUR for this great programm ...
But .... to use Amigift finally with the announced V1 feautures i musst pay for 2.0 .........
If AmigiftV2 would have VERY good features for people that use P2P very often and with
many files [not to DL only from time to time a mp3] .. then i would pay 50.- EUR
with Joy ...
And the other problem is .. i will pay at Banktransfer .. this is imho atm no possible
A big bad thing is in my eyes the chat function .. it is very useless in a P2P
programm .. need it not 1 time ! [have a chat prg allready]
And to deactivate it .. i musst pay ... this is really bad handle of this thing ..
If i will locate more sources for DL that have only a few .. or no sources ..
A req pop up and say "this is only for Reg user .. i have the possibility to
locate more sources over the >hash< search funktion" ...
This is really a bad joke..
The hash value from a file stand only in the xxx.stat file from the file ..
So .. i musst search my DL incomming directory with this long cryptic file names first for
the right stat file .. open it in a text reader and copy the hash value in the search
field of amigift ... for not so advanced user .. this is useless ...
Better to named the V2 "-DEMO-" ....

And the other point .. with a "free" version .. you are very thankfull to the progger
and happy it comes new relases [and give him feedback]
With the "paying" from a programm .. this is [even by 6.- EUR] another story ..
The prg have still [even rare] system locks .. have no actuall P2P protocol [eDonkey]..
And musst now the comparison leave themselves fallen with free PC P2P programms ..

Hope for the possibility for pay with banktransfer ..
Hope for REMOVING of the useless and bad chat part [and aminet part too .. use a web
browser is faster and easyer anaway !]
Hope for no system locks anymore in next realases [the prg have Pri 0 .. not 20]
And Hope for an eDonkey plug in in the near future ..

The progress is to the actuall point good .. but i think the restriction from the registry
is to many and to basic to P2P use ... [from the chat "feature" i say better nothing ..]

Ok I finally got all the right classes it seems and it boots without a guru.
Now it is connecting and then gives a little window with gift..? as title and an ok button.
When I press the button amigift shuts down to an appicon which after a few secs also quits into a textwindow saying "stablishing connection to the chat".
When I click this away nothing is happening anymore????

the sam problem I have here :(...

this happen ~30% the time i start GiftMUI [remember .. I start giftd over an
cli script before !] ...
To avoid giftmui starting giftd ->
I renamed giftd to giftd_ [and correct my cli script.. the main reason for starting
over cli is to give another log path] and copy the cpu command to the amigift daemon
dir, renamed as giftd [giftmui start not without an giftd where it can start ....]

If giftd runing fine [the first 1-2min it locks rare the system and use nearly 100% CPU usage],
then i start giftmui .. if this above posted problem happen, i start giftd and then
giftmui a second time [giftmui shut the daemon down is he quitting ]
I think it is a bug in the indispensable chat part ...
[sorry for the *sarcasm* .. cant resist ..]

Then it running to 90% fine .. to 10% [after starting a second time] it crashes
the Amiga horrible [reboot with looping red screen - musst power off to restart the Amiga]

The only problem i have [more auser that registry restrictions] is a bad Gnutella
connection .. nearly 95% down ..[yellow lamp]

the gift library problem was due the lamp mcc was too old.
it works here now, i think, haven't tried to download anything yet, i'll try that now.

hmmm stil got the fatal error initializing gift.library everything else seems ok if i can get the error sorted itll connect any ideas anyone ?

Thanks for your tip.
But same problem still there.
It has something to do with the daeamon though.
As soon as I change the boolean to non-zero so the deamon won't start I don't get this problem.
I'll check my mcc classes again???
Running on an A4000 with 060 here.

under os4. Is there any other ixemul.library that i should use ?

When i try to make giftd INDEXONLY VERBOSE it makes the shares
file but it stops after some files and sends out this
***Command 'daemon/giftd' returned with unfreed signals 40000000!

Often when i open the gui and want to quit i got grims.
Also when using the reload deamon from menu.
Sometimes this comes.
***Command 'giFTMui' returned with unfreed signals 00020000!

But i dont get connected to any servers. No lamps lightning.

I did write on the amigift dev list too.

mine says welcome to the filesharing world now, but when i try to search for something i don't get any results.
this might be due some mui thingie still, weirder things have happened when i have had mising mui libs..
damn, those mui libs are a real pain to sort out, no useful requesters.

i changed the settings in amigift to only use the gnutella protocol, and

Hey I've got it to go!
I've set the SPLASHWINDOW option to NO istead of yes in the giftmui.info and I don't get that strange window thingie now.
I even managed to downloaded some stuff allready...great
I will pay for this great program these few euro's no problem.
Only sideeffect of not using this splash thing is that some text is disappearing here and there.
I need to move the mouse to the position and read the bubble
Maybe anyone has got ans solution tip for this one?
No to set up some share stuff on my side.
