| Well, barring a (rumored) Sinbad sort of situation, this is a great loss.
I never had any of the Fred Fish CDs (and didn't have a CD-ROM drive on my Amigas to use it in anyway), and so far as I know, never had any of the actual, official Fred Fish floppies... but I did dload alot of Fred Fish archives from BBSs, and later from the Aminet...
(edit: had a completely different post here originally. Took that out. Then came back and posted this...) Last edited by NomadOfNorad on 30-Apr-2007 at 04:47 AM. Last edited by NomadOfNorad on 30-Apr-2007 at 03:04 AM.

| I've had a lot of good memories thanks to Fred Fish disks. I remember all of the fun in seeing the latest that I could get from the local AmiCUE or from local Amiga dealers. I really miss the old days.
So long Fred, it was great to have you be a big part of the Amiga World. _________________ Regards,

| I think that Fred had in his house all Amiga material for Fish CDs...
I hope that some representatives from Amiga Community could visit his relatives and ask permission to release CD again starting from Fred's collection...
For example release again all collection of Gold Fish Disks in CD package, and give Fred's family good percentages of monney on the selling of the CDs...
Else, all Freds collection of open source files, the addresses and telephone numbers of all programmers and donors of the software, all the material he never released, and Freds Amigas could be lost in vain... _________________ "When the Amiga came out, everyone [at Apple] was scared as hell." Those that remember Fred & what he did for us in the early Amiga days are showing our age here. Fred pioneered the concept that is now Aminet, a shame it can't be changed to FredNet to honor him. |
Aminet can't be changed of name...
BUT...
In front of first page of any Aminet mirror, there could be a phrase entitled to Fred Fish...
«In beloved memory of Fred Fish, who was the first Amigan to share with the Community the open resources he collected.
He will be live forever in our hearts.
The grateful Amiga Community with Love to Fred Fish,»
And here I publicly ask the maintaners of Aminet to put on front page of Any Aminet Mirror a remainder Memento to Fred Fish! _________________ "When the Amiga came out, everyone [at Apple] was scared as hell."
