I don't have an AmigaOne but its nice to see a vendor actually providing tangible things for the community to use. Good stuff.

Really great news. I hope that from now on it will be more stable. I dont see the AmiUpdate still anywhere! Will that ever be released for the masses?

I hope that Hyperion wins the trial and in cooperation with ACube to make a new platform for all of us, running this fine software. Keep up the fine work Hyperion!

@walker: if amiupdate ever will be released? , thing is.. whats the point in having it yet? (yes i use it everyday but...) and besides its a third party component.

things are bound to keep going so don't loose faith but i think you should enjoy what you get instead of asking for other things :)

Any reports of actual usage? Things not working? Things working? New features (I know about the Hyperion list of features...)?
I tend to wait before installing new updates. ;)

Nice to hear that developers can continue their work!

Is it too late to apply for OS4 for CSPPC betatester?

I must say that the last line of the news message is the most interesting:

Quote:
We once again wish to take this opportunity to reassure our customers that development of Amiga OS 4.x continues apace on a number of platforms.

Is it just me or isnt "development of Amiga OS 4.x continues apace on on a number of platforms a promising message? I wonder which platforms?? Sam440? Mac?

I must say, this is pretty darned cool

Mad props to Hyperion, the contractors and beta testers, you guys all rock!

Now I know what I'll be doing when I get back from work today

Quick question to Rogue about the new stack guard page code: does this mean automatic stack enlargement like *nix/Windows, or a predictable crash instead of garbled memory? (I'd prefer the first, but the second is also pretty big improvement)

Isn't this the first update since OS4 was released?

Indeed.

BTW, earlier someone spoke of "a new feature that would blow your mind away"; I just wonder which of these is it?

Hip !

Nice to have some new stuff, but just one problem : NO More USB device working !!

Neither USB keys, Card REaders, or my USB KVM.

The USB stack takes several minutes to report "unable to attach the device".

Any clues anyone...

Maybe it also runs on Mac Mini, Pegasos 2 and Efika now. Have you already tried?

@Tonton_Pascal,

USB is working fine here. I have an unfixed A1XE USB, IE: I have to use a hub for devices to be recognised. But with the hub in place everything works fine.

Thanks to Hyperion and all the workers for this update!

Cheers,
Bean.

No, right now, it just means that you will hit a brick wall when you run out of stack space (and GrimReaper will even tell you )

Enlarging the stack is a bit problematic, since it would require that the address space is already allocated (even though only a few pages are actually mapped for the stack). However, in the single address space we have on AmigaOS, allocating large chunks of address space is a problem.
