| Sounds pretty nice to me, due I don't like the idea of an overclocked 667 mhz CPU. It will be stable but in facts that we re talkin about a semiconductor the overclocking won't make it live longer.... I persoanlly *WILL* buy one but still not sure about which version. |

| Wow, that was fast. The Flex with 800mhz sounds really great, I could think about selling my old 667mhz Board and swap for a 800mhz Version. But my current Board is not older than a half year, so better wait? ;) Perhabs yes, course there are no tools yet which would need much power at all, but in an year or so... how knows, but good to know something new is coming permanently to the market :O)) THX Acube! |

| With such a small price difference it's gonna be tough to offload the 667MHz version
An excellent case for good old supply and demand. With any cheap, modern graphics card things like compositing is probably going to be quite useable even on the 667MHz board, so some incentive to go for the smaller one would make sense.
But for all I know there's a grand master plan behind it all, so we'll see _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.

I was thinking the same. Maybe they should raise the price of the 800MHz version? |

Congratulations on the new CSS website as well.
One thing I noticed though...

AmigaOS 4.0* is coming to your Amiga 1200 equipped with BlizzardPPC and Amiga 3000(T) or 4000(T) equipped with CyberstormPPC expansion boards! |
Should that not read "is currently available for" instead of "is coming"?

That's true. Adding RAM and graphics card as well will bring it up to about the same price as the existing Sams.
At least it's faster at 800MHz though. Last edited by Gleng on 02-Apr-2009 at 03:33 PM. Last edited by Gleng on 02-Apr-2009 at 03:33 PM.

With RAM and GfxCard added it's still about 30 EUR cheaper, AND you have twice as much video RAM, faster GPU, an extra PCI slot, twice as much max RAM (up to 1GB possible), and you have an upgrade path to use a PCI Radeon HD card, once the driver currently being developed (see here) is finished (with the original Sam440 you could only use one in a 33MHz PCI slot which is much slower). |

| This is great news, the best bit has to be the price, which is one thing stopping me from getting a sam for just a hobbie machine. I really hope this bring down the price of the Sam440ep below the £300 price range then I will snap one up (after all that's all I paid originally for my A1200) _________________ AmigaNG, YouTube, LeaveReality Studio

| @all SAM667 users
Why not wait one year or more for the next top secret board for AOS4.1 and made by Acube (or another manufacturer) ???
I think the story wil not end by the flex version (overclocked 800 mhz power CPU I talk). _________________ BTW, what you have done for the amiga today ????

| Excellent !!!
I'm new on the site but I'm an old Amiga fan. I still own an A2000HD with a Janus XT expansion board plus an A1200.
Very good catch for ACube.
Gotta have one of those new flex _________________ GDG Entertainment

| Most excellent.
This goes to the top of my list of "Things to get once I have a job again".. It will be a while, but I have something to look forward to, and my micro will do just fine until then.
I have a few questions, probably most answered before, but I have not been reading all the SAM posts:
How much RAM can the flex support? Is it super-specific, or will "common ram" work?
How will the 800Mhz system compare to a Micro at 800Mhz?
How hard is it to get a good GFX card with HDMI outputs? Are digital outputs like HDMI supported yet, or is that a purely hardware issue?
How long will a CR2032 last in a Flex board?
What PCI cards are supported yet?
OK, A bunch of "newbie" questions, but interesting points for some readers, I'm sure.
