| @Kronos: > BBRV came into the Amiga-scene in late 2001 (the Viscorp matter is a differnt one).
Where was this different ? It was all the same: just announcements that were untrue or incomplete - nothing more. _________________

Bottom line: Judge companies by their products and the service they provide, cos otherwise you'll end up in a cave wearing rabbit-skins and eating worms | so we have to put up with insults, unethical behavior, bullying, rubber checks, etc because YOU think they are the Only Game In Town???
if you believe that you have no spine and no imagination.
In my career I've been lucky enough to work with people who respected me, appreciated me and we all created award winning work. I'm spolt. I refuse to move backwards. maybe you don't, but I know I deserve better.Last edited by cecilia on 15-Nov-2005 at 03:58 PM.

quote from BBRV "Note latest EFIKA revision: the PCI slot is now AGP." |
Perhaps they're changing the mechanical slot to AGP but it will work in "PCI mode" as someone mentioned regarding recent changes to the Troika board in some other thread, basically PCI electronics in an AGP mechanical slot, as nearly all AGP chips will work on PCI bus as well. (not sure about some of the AGP->PCI-Express bridges and similar things, but an AGP grapics chip itself should be fine).
I wasn't meaning to deride you personally, just to say that I don't think AGP on something like Efika makes a lot of sense. Especially if it displaces a PCI slot, which could be useful for other things in smal applications where graphics is not necessary. You can't put anything else in an AGP slot like ethernet (I have some 4-port router PCI cards that would be neat in a tiny computer), sound (like an MP3 stereo system component), etc. Maybe ADD an agp slot along with a PCI slot, but no PCI slot at all seems goofy here, IMHO. Or add a graphics chip on-board and leave the PCI slot as-is. Most embedded systems usage of such a system would want a PCI slot, so I am guessing Efika is more catered to hobbyists like us than to larger market embedded customers, which just seems like an odd conclusion to find myself making. _________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad!

My point exactly. I agree 100% PCI is what you want on the little guy this way you can add what you want or need.
allot of what I do a simple serial LCD panel is all that is needed. So there is no need for a graphics chip of any kind.
so that's settled.
So who's gonna sell them.
