I don't remember, it could have been ssolie, or number 6 perhaps? I'd have search back some days, but it doesn't matter. Improvements are always good, I was just curious which one specifically he meant thats all...

You may try the following:
- Move devs:usb/fd/massstorage.usbfd to sys:Kickstart
- Add a line "MODULE kickstart/massstorage.usbfd" to your kicklayout.

I also found that removing the bootmouse and bootkeyboard and loading hid.usbfd with the kicklayout makes things work for me, but I haven't tested that for a long time so I didn't make this default in this update.

(1)I understand you're not making a direct accusation here, but...
(2)I hereby give you full permission to quote any post on AW of mine or any post in #amigaworld public irc channel that would even -remotely- suggest I had posted the comment in question.

Sorry TMHG, but I really do not appreciate how others might read this type of post and what they might wrongly conclude from it.

Many thanks to Hyperion for the ongoing work!

I (Wolfgang) had no problems with the update so far (µA1), but made some interesting observation (interesting for joerg, maybe): CPUTemp.docky shows a slighty different behaviour now. My µA1 has to work heavily, until some temperature change will be shown through the docky (I thought the CPUTemp thingie wouldn't work for my machine, but indeed it does!), but it never ecxeeded 25 degrees (not calibrated in any way, more or less random chosen numbers). Just after the heavy work ended, the temperature drops very fast to 18 degrees.

Now the docky shows temperatures up to 30 degrees and dropping is much slower then before the update.

That's for joerg's information

@Rogue & EnthilZa:

Well, the Python module and stack protection changes are for sure quite useful for the porting people.

What about the people not wanting to do any porting of SDL games and such? Are there any changes to the graphics system, utilizable for 2D games, in sight for the near future? Any news about AmigaInput?

Thank you very much in advance!

I guess I found the pb : I removed the protection bit D from my OS4final original files just to avoid overwriting with some third parties utilities

sorry for this

Exactly, I'm *not* *accusing* *anyone*! Where is the *crime* anyway?

BTW I found it, ssolie said "There is this new feature that will blow you away", and since people might rise their eyebrows (I did) at these kind of "behind the scenes" reports of new functionalities that is about to be released, I simply wanted to reconnect to that post of his to learn specifically which of the new functionalities in this release he meant?

I'm a betatester and I'm not blown away by any unrevealed component.
Strange...

@takemehomegrandma

Ssolie didn't actually say that it would be in the next public update. I've noticed that AmigaInput isn't in the new update. I'm sure that they're still working on that one. There's probably a number of things that aren't ready for public release yet.

Or, he could have been joking.

Hans

@EntilZha

Thanks for the quick reply!

Another question, if I may: ELF shared objects are now officially part of the OS; given that they are in many ways better than amiga .library files, are there any plans to make shared objects the "official" library model and leave .library files for backwards compatibility only?

It seems someone took ssolie's post a bit too serious. ;)

What makes you think it was in this release?

I know nothing!
