| @Rogue When BillE says "The layouts always look crap when using CSS." he may be referring to IBrowse & AWeb... _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue...

| @BillE
I'm going to speak up here as someone who has had to embrace website development, from C programming, for a living during the past two years.
I take pride in every project I create and absolutely make sure they are able to pass the Strict XHTML and CSS2.1 standards set by the W3C.

No it isn't. The layouts always look crap when using CSS. |
Maybe in iBrowse, or aWeb, but then who cares if it looks good in those arcaic browsers anyway? Are we forever to be stuck in 1995?
Quote:
Not all browsers support CSS. |
Any browser worth it's salt should most defintely support CSS, anything that doesn't these days isn't even worth considering as a viable target platform.

Also it is so eay to write web [pages that don't use nor need CSS. |
Yes, of course it is easy, but they'll look terrible and won't have a fraction of the functionality a CSS built website would have.
Not to mention that you'll have to use old, dodgy standards from 1995 such as frames and using tables to layout your pages, which is just bad programming practice.

I really hate sites that use it, they look a mess. |
So you've never browsed the internet on a PC or MAC? Chances are you have and sorry to break it to you, the majority of websites these days use CSS and they normally never look like a mess on a real browser.

I guess if OWB gets a MUI interface I may start using that more but for now IB is still the best option - on well written sites that work on ANY Browser. |
Although I'm not a fan of OWB's interface, it's a marvelous piece of software for AmigaOS and it means I can do my job on my Amiga using OWB and CubicIDE now.
Once again, to you, ANY browser should obviously include ancient Amiga browsers such as iBrowse and aWeb, sorry but it shouldn't.
I suppose we should all still be riding around on a horse and cart in a muddy field or using BetaMax tapes instead of Sky+ because we (as a Amigans) are so used to being stuck in the past! We have the technology here and now, on AmigaOS, so we should damn well take advantage of it. Be pleased that we can actually now do so.
@Rogue
Take no notice, the website is fantastic, looks nice and polished on AmigaOS here. Good work I say. _________________ This fire is burnin' and it's out of control It's not a problem you can stop, It's rock n' roll - GN'F'N'R

| Good work I say also!
A mess on IBrowse, but great on OWB.
My re-registration went well.

| Looks great! Nice job.
I must say, I'm interested in your "most ambitious project to date". I don't suppose it's worth asking for any hints? _________________
